This unpretentious and inconspicuous spot is worth the detour. The menu focuses on local fish, beef and produce. Everything I had was amazing. Try whatever the chef recommends that day.

The food we ordered was all delicious and had nice presentation. Lots of tasty fish and the flan was a-maz-ing! Our waiter was very nice and the Spanish/English menu was very helpful. The prices were on the higher side, but fair bc the quality of the food made it worth it. My only complaint was that the restaurant was pretty... More

It is a nice experience in a nice area (La placita). The only thing is in general you have to wait long.

Truly excellent. This was the only restaurant I insisted on visiting. No reservations so we didn't go starving since we weren't sure how long it would be, but the two hour wait made us all the more ready for some wonderful cooking - and we weren't disappointed! First, it was great to see Jose Enrique there talking to people (if... More

Had heard this place was incredible, that they take no reservations and that you'll have a long wait, knew that going in and were prepared to wait. Arrived at 7:00 on Tuesday, December 30. The woman taking names could not have been less friendly, or more arrogant and indifferent, told us it would be at least two hours and we... More

This restaurant came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint! Make sure you get there early (no reservations)! Our server was fantastic, and gave us lots of information about the menu options. The drinks were just as good as the food! This was our favorite restaurant in Puerto Rico, and I hope Jose Enrique decides to open some restaurants on... More

The restaurant is very low key, very local (no sign, no attributes of a restaurant outside, very basic interior and completely funky on the board menu- also quite simple) - we loved these things! But! It is so popularized by tourists now that ALL you see inside is .. The tourists! We saw ZERO local people.... We found it was... More

Jose Enrique had never disappointed me, until this last visit. We waited for two and a half hours to be seated. These waits are normal for the restaurant on a Saturday night, but the food usually makes it worth it. In addition, we saw how a few parties arrived after us and were seated before us, and being a local,... More

Jose Enrique lived up to its high praise!!! All of my friends who had been to Puerto Rico in the past recommended this restaurant for dinner (but they're open for lunch too!) You can't make a reservation so I was told to show up early to put our name down. My boyfriend and I went on a Tuesday night as... More

The building has no sign, the menu is on a hand written blackboard as the menu changes based on the fresh fish and meats that they received daily. Start with the Cangrejo and add a bit of the puertorrican hot sauce. The signature dish is the yellow tail snapper but I try a different plate every time I visit the... More
