I have been going to Luis Enrique restaurant for several years. One thing that they are consistent about is the quality of food. Food is good, borderline excellent (at times…they tend to overcook fish). Drinks are also very good. Some of the best Mojitos I have had. The main reason why I am writing this review is due to fact... More

Was recommended by hotel staff. The food was delicious. The wait was way too long and the restaurant is in need of a revamp. It can get noisy and crowded. Nice area to experience the local scene and bars after dinner. Also a pricey restaurant but I seem to notice that about Puerto Rico! You can pay ridiculous amounts for... More

Lunch at Jose Enrique’s was absolutely fantastic and a great way to introduce my friend to Puerto Rican cuisine. We both enjoyed the service, the food, and the overall experience. The chef takes traditional Puerto Rican dishes and adds his delicious touch to them. From the charcuterie with delicious hams to the carne frita with plantains to the carne guisada... More

The restaurant was very crowded at 7:00PM (which is a good thing)… we arrived with a party of 6 put our name in and was told an hour to an hour and a half wait… walked around and enjoyed the live music and bars all around the restaurant… great crowd on the streets and we were seated in about 35... There is no sign of the restaurant, from outside does not even seem a restaurant. Waited 2 hours for a table, we managed to have a drink in a nearby bar but still waiting too long. Music was too loud, people screaming, looked like all locals as they all seemed to know each other and greets between tables, which were... More

Oh my gosh...the red snapper was so damn good! Go an 90 minutes to 2 hours before you want to eat to get your name on the list if you don't make reservations. In the meantime, enjoy the drinks in the area. We plan to return. Prices are reasonable too.

This nouvelle puertorrican cuisine is consistently good. The place is small and it gets crowded and noisy, but the great quality of the food compensates for these comparatively small nuisances. Try the beef stew as main dish, with any appetizer and, if you still have space, dessert. This restaurant is located close to Santurce's marketplace, it has parking and is... More

Again, dining with a group of 16 is no easy task, especially with a 2 hour wait, but the food is worth it. Once seated in this tiny, popular restaurant, the staff is attentive, friendly, helpful and attractive! For a 2 hour wait I expect perfection and a taste bud orgasm, which I received, which we all received. Our group... More

Jose Enrique has very good food and is super popular. we had the crab mofungo, the skirt steak and swordfish, and good wine. Yummy!!! there are no reservations, so you might have to wait a half an hour or more!! BUT, do not sweat it, you are in the Placita. just go down the street, while you wait, they have... More
