Dinner was good, breakfast was awful!

After a full day in Old San Juan, we took a taxi back to the Condado area where we were staying. He recommended this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. Service was not very friendly at first but we were too exhausted to leave to find somewhere else. Besides, we were still having a great... read more

We were looking for something relatively inexpensive close to the hotel. The whiteboard in front of the restaurant had a few menu items with prices that were acceptable so we gave this place a chance. I ordered the Beef Stew with Rice and Beans; my companion had a Cuban Sandwich. At $8.95 each, the prices weren't so bad compared to... More

My family and I sat down for dinner and ordered our drinks. We ordered one pineapple juice and two tap waters. When the drinks came out one of the tap waters had dirt in it the other appeared fine. Upon telling the waiter he seemed annoyed and tried to sell us bottled water. We just asked for a clean glass... More

We went to the Latin Star at the suggestion of a cab driver and what a bad decision that was. First and foremost the wait staff makes you feel like they are doing you a favor and the food takes forever and I mean "FOREVER" to come. I can say that the dinner we had was pretty good but the... More

My husband and I ate at the Latin Star on the last night of our trip, April 9th, after not finding the restaurant we were looking for and we were tired and hungry. We ordered three dishes, the fried pork appetizer, an empanada, a bowl of fish soup and two soft drinks. The waiter brought three sauces to our table... More

This place was disgusting. I ordered a pina colada and had barely any rum in it. The waiter seemed annoyed when I asked about the menu. He then said I had one minute to order.. I said I needed a few minutes and he repeated "one minute" .. then our food came.. my order was wrong. When I got my... More

We ended up here because Orozco's was full. We ordered pina coladas in the pineapple which they charged $15 with rum and $10 for virgin. The waitress did not understand much English but we were able to order entrees. It took a long time for the food to come. It took even longer for to catch the waitress to get... More

Although this local food was good, we had to wait forever to place our order, wait forever for the food, and wait forever for our bill – and it wasn’t that crowded. We prefer Orozco, the restaurant up the street serving similar local food, but with better service.

Typically, when you call a place a "hole in the wall" during a review, it's a good thing. It's not, in this case. Our taxi driver from the airport to the hotel recommended this place as "authentic Puerto Rican food" and kept talking about how good it was. We tried to like it, but it really missed the mark and... It's actually kind of funny that it wax so terrible. They did not understand us when ordering so we got doubles of the food which they graciously took back, buy the French toast with nothing more than toast slightly dipped in egg and then fried and the pancakes were worse, they may have just been flour and water, mixed and...
