Local and authentic

If you are in downtown OSJ and want an authentic meal this is the place to go. Not fancy on the inside, but the food was amazing and the staff was super friendly. Bringing our tired children crayons and paper to entertain them. It was a long day of traveling to PR and a good meal was needed. My... read more

Whenever we go to a new town, I am always looking for a place where the locals eat, in order to find good, inexpensive regional food. And I usually find it by asking the local folks, especially at a museum, zoo, or other tourist attraction. This is how we found El Punto in San Juan. We were in San Juan... More

While buying a hat in Ole, we asked where we should eat lunch and the sales person said to try next door. So we did! Our first experience eating mofongo with ground beef. Delicious. My husband also got their seafood cerveche which was mild and tasted like the ocean. So good. It's hidden back down a hallway so you have... More

We had been walking around old San Juan enjoying the beautiful buildings and doing some shopping and decided it was time to stop for a bite to eat. We had a large group of people and they were patient and very helpful. They also sell local artist work at the front of the store. We had bought a painting and... More

The food was great. My cousin and I ate there for lunch after visiting the barcardi factory. The staff was very nice and helpful and the price was reasonable. I wouldn't mind coming back there again. I also enjoyed the mango mojito very much.

Stopped for lunch here after day of seeing the historic forts on the recommendation of our cab driver, Caesar. Mofongo and empandillas were incredible. Only downside was they charge for a refill of the iced tea

English and Spanish! We just spent 4 days in Old San Juan, and this was the first place we went to for a quick lunch just as soon as we left the bags in the hotel. This was also our favorite place of all!! Maybe because we were hungry, but we found that the flavors in this place were really... More

My husband and I are frequent visitors to Cafe el Punto! I first experienced the restaurant on the Flavors of San Juan food tour with some girlfriends. I brought my husband back and it is our go-to spot when we are in San Juan! The mojitos are the best in the old city and the stuffed avacado is AMAZING! The... More

The vibe of this place was incredible! I loved the salad stuffed in a fresh avocado. Located on one of the liveliest streets in Old San Juan, Cafe El Punto was perfection.
