This is where the locals go for Mofungo

This is not a fancy place by a long shot but if you want to indulge in some excellent Puerto Rican cuisine come by and enjoy yourself.

It's Puerto Rico in a nutshell. Located on the stunning Fortaleza street in Old San Juan, Café el Punto lires you in with the spalsh of colors one hopes to find in the Caribbean. Once inside, you have arts and crafts, with traditional decoration that makes you feel like a local, not a tourist. The food is all great and... More

Love this spot in Fortaleza street in Old San Juan. The make these nice stuffed avocados. The bartender Jonathan knows how to mix the drinks. Ask for his Mojito! Great Staff. The manager is great. Have been back several times. You enter through this little alley with some artwork for sale and they are right after that. Very charming small... More

We have come here every time we visit Old San Juan. Found it by chance and now we come back for the amazing mojitos and stay for the food...which is plentiful, and authentic Puerto Rican. Best kept secret in Old San Juan.

My parents and I didn't realize they closed at 8pm. We arrived there and they were just finishing up with the last few tables but we're no longer seating as t was about 8:20. The older gentleman who was there saw us looking in and we had explained that we realized it was past 8pm so we would come back... More

We came here on our own rather than on a food tour. This gave us the opportunity to experience more of the menu. My wife and I were looking for an authentic Puerto Rican lunch. We were not disappointed . We tried several different variations of mofongo and enjoyed them all. Make sure you also enjoy a good rum drink... More

I came to visit PR with my girlfriend and was told about this restaurant back home. I was debating if I should take the time to stop by this place. I was not going to be in San Juan for long but I am glad I took the time to come in. I had the mofongo and ceviche and it... More

What a great place to eat! This is absolutely a hidden diamond in Old San Juan! The service was also fantastic. Everything, and I mean everything we ordered was excellent! I am so glad we landed here after we decided not wait 1.5 hours for our table in a very near restaurant. Will recommend it without hesitation.

We came to Cafe El Punto on the Flavors of San Juan food tour. I had hand down the best ceviche I have ever had. This restaurant embarrassed the same plate I had on my cruise. We also had a mofongo that we got to be hands on with making which was a cool experience. Also make sure you order... More

We had a good time here, the air conditioning was nice on the hot day! The Mofongo was very good as were the drinks.
