Besides a genuine menu which delivers real Puerto Rican food, the atmosphere is a nice art shop with real native craftwork. I grew up here nearly 50 years ago and this is the real deal.

You need to try this place if you are in Old San Juan. Very small dining area. looks like it should be bigger but part of charm in old San Juan is the surprises you get. The food here is great. Apparently the stuffed Avocado is also great.

Went there with my bro and his girlfriend because it was near our hotel and received good reviews. Food was ok at best. I ordered the shrimp Mofungo and and a smoothie(was good). The Mofungo was tasteless. The service was slow too. We all left disappointed. Maybe the chef was on his day off.

El Punto’s dining room is hidden away behind a shop that sells, among other things, wonderful handmade masks. Meals here are not cheap but they can be very good and interesting. I will remember it as the place where I had a frape made from fresh guanabana. I had tried buying a guanabana (soursop) in a grocery store and ripening... More

We were seated immediately upon arrival and the server was very friendly. I had the zaposte smoothie and I thought it was fantastic. Definitely a change from the regular mango, pineapple etc. We had both the fish and conch ceviche and that was good. Three of us ordered the grouper with garlic sauce and that was amazing. The side of... More

We wanted to try a real local restaurant. Preferably with local people eating there. Of course after a few good TripAdvisor reviews and there won't be room for local people so I am reluctantly writing this. We were in a local bar and asked for a recommendation from the bar person. She said she eats here all the time and... More

I could care less about writing a review but this is exceptional. I stumbled upon this restaurant that serves fresh fruit juice. I ordered a 3-juice combo: papaya, passion fruit and zapote ("ciku" in Malay), which immediately quenched my thirst and soothed my sore throat (after a day-long sunbathing). This is the only fresh fruit juice store/restaurant in old San... More

So they don't have fancy tablecloths, linens, decor, etc. It's stuck in the middle of a tourist shopping court that badly needs to repair the steps leading up to the bathrooms. And the dining room is smaller than most bedrooms. But the food, the service and the price here are GREAT! Local food, with waiters who can explain everything. I... More

The ceviche was AMAZING!!! Fresh, tangy with a perfect balance of cilantro. The empanda was very good but excellent with the pique sauce! Great food.

We visited Cafe El Punto as part of the Flavors of San Juan tour and got to taste a few items. The Alcapurría was good but the grouper ceviche was some of the best I have ever eaten (and we eat a lot of ceviche even at home). If you like fresh fish - you must try the ceviche here!!!
