Food Good, Service Lacking

The concierge at our motel recommended this restaurant in Old San Juan. Food was good, but there didn't seem to be enough staff to cover both the inside and outside dining. There were some diners who were seated, but then left without ordering because of the slow service.

I ordered a mofongo filled with "pollo al ajillo" and it was good but not thaaat good. The mofongo needed more taste (like more garlic and salt). The portion was great and very fast service. The waitress was very friendly and funny! I would give it another try, to see if it was just bad luck because the place is... More

You have not had a good Churrasco until you visit this location. I went there on 4/5/15 while on vacation in the San Juan area with my family. I enjoyed it so much that I am making sure I go back again prior to leaving this wonderful island to have another Churrasco.

The food was very good at this restaurant. Rice and the beans were the best. The plantains were different. They were a cross between a Bananas and potatoes. My brain is still trying to comprehend. lol. I would go back again.

We always stop in at Mojito's when we're in San Juan, and it never disappoints. Great mofongos and terrific mojitos!

This was a very good place to eat. I had plantains for the first time and they were different. lol. cross between a banana and a potato. My taste buds could not compute. The service was very good. I would go there again.

And it is true!! I have to agree!! It was truly the best mofongo I have had in 40 years of coming to Puerto Rico. All the locals always rave about mofongo, but I have always found it dry, tasteless and totally uninteresting. It is basically just crushed plantain shaped into a bowl & filled with your choice of several... More

This restaurant appears to be favored by locals, and had fairly typical Puerto Rican food. The food and prices were reasonable, and we liked the mofongo. It certainly wasn't touristy -- our server didn't even speak English.

The title of this review came from our teenage boys. We were in search of authentic local cuisine during our short port stop in San Juan. Even though we all but had 'tourist' stamped on our foreheads, the staff couldn't have been nicer. They took time with us while we tried our Spanish and guided us through the menu. Everything... The food was really good. I had the shrimp mofongo along with a mojito. I'd definitely return to this restaurant. All the food I saw in passing looked good as well. I am not sure why I had to ask for water 6 times but it was pretty annoying. The cheesecake was delicious!
