The friendly and helpful staff suggested trifongo. Everything on the menu was a local dish. It was a great first meal in PR!

Thanks to my good friends on TA, we sought out and found this nice little restaurant after walking the outer wall of Old San Juan and visiting the forts of Morro and Cristobal. This place has a nice character and despite being tucked away on a side street is well worth the trip. The service was phenomenal. Our server made... More

Tucked into the bylanes of Old San Juan, this little Deli serves some really nice local food. The staff are warm and welcoming, easy to converse with and helpful. However if you do not speak Spanish, your conversations have to be animated! We ordered a Trifongo with Chicken (Tomato Gravy), a SanJuanero Burger (with chicken) and a Grouper Ceviche. We... More

Everytime we go to the Old San Juan, we plan to make this stop. On weekends you can try a nice breakfast and believe me, it's superb. Everyday you can go for lunch or dinner and you will find a fine cuisine with a great taste and a very good service. The owners are great people and always work hard... More

Old San Juan, around corner from my hotel. Lunch day before boarding cruise ship, and breakfast the day of. Nice strong coffee; the local style almost like expresso. Longish wait, but hey, this is not fast food, but good food.I was the only english speaking customer both times, hearing other table chatter.

We were looking for a local place, something simple, not in mood of complicated lunch, this was perfect. We had chicken sandwiches ( big! ) and ceviche for appetizer ( was unbelievable ! ) love the touch of tostones), service was great, even beers we tried from Hawaii and Spain ! Took a little time to get food, but was... More

When Friday calls for fish and you find yourself in old town San Juan, make your way to Fefe'a and try the atun (tuna) tataki (seared?) con tostones (fried plantains). Es muy delicioso!

We stopped in here for a late lunch on the recommendation of our host. He told us that he and his wife eat there regularly and that it is a place where many locals eat. We had the Trifongo and it was delicious. If you are looking for an authentic PR restaurant/food, this is the place! The close at 6PM,... More

We went in to try a spin on Puerto Rican cuisine, and we left full and happy. The waitstaff was nice and the atmosphere was very relaxing.
