Excellent!!

We ate here two days ago and I think is the best italian restaurant in San Juan. We order one of the specials of the day, it was ravioly filled with asparagus in a white sauce with pinoli and sundries tomatoes. That has to be the best raviolis I have ever tasted. The asparagus in the filling were... read more

Il Bacaro is an absolute gem. The moment you walk in its like being sent to a small village restaurant in La Tosana or Firenze. With only 10 to 15 tables its the perfect place for an intimate dinner or a small group. The service was very good and the food was above average but the ambiance is what really... More

Great restaurant with great service and ambiance. Selection was good for the kids. The lobster ravioli was amazing. Service was great. Prices reasonable. Authentic Italian in the heart of old San Juan. Recommend highly. Did not require reservations even for 6 but place filled up quickly. Was open on the Monday when trip advisor said it wasn't.

My wife and I went to Il Bacaro Venezia while we were staying in Old San Juan PR. We just happened to walk past the street front, looked at the menu and remembered our concierge had recommended this restaurant. We liked the look...lower lighting, maybe twenty tables, simple but nice interior, bar at one side of the restaurant and nice,... More

I have been to Italy on 3 separate occasions and love the food & atmosphere of the restaurants. It is rare to find an Italian restaurant that offers an authentic Italian experience with amazing food and service. It's even more difficult to find that in Puerto Rico. My wife and I ran into their restaurant to escape the rain while... More

Service and food were good not great. Wine selection is poor. Carpaccio was soft, tender but lacked flavor. Crab mushrooms, caprese and spinach salads and ravioli with lobster were good but compared with other local italian restaurants not "out of this world". Panacotta had too much whip cream. Plus I did not like the fact the restaurant does not take... More

I really liked this restaurant. It is a cozy, quiet and intimate Italian place with great quality food and service. Everyone was very nice. Prices are reasonable. I had a great Italian pasta dish. I plan to return.

If you are looking for a romantic, quiet, excellent value Italian cuisine restaurant, well you've found it! We had the seafood fritto misto, as an apetizer... FANTASTIC...actually world class level. It's the perfect place for a couple although there was a small group of 6 present the night we went. I definitely would return.

Stray just a little bit off the beaten tourist path and find this intimate gem tucked away in a more quiet part of Old San Juan. The food is delicious, very generous portions and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and the service is very good. I love the huge mirror behind the bar! I'll definitely be back.
