Small, out of the usual tourist path, it is not a fancy decor. This is not a place for tourists and we were the only ones there. The furniture is basic and rustic. The china is mismatched. The food offered is not complicated and comes quickly to the table. The service is very pleasant, even charming. Good music and good... more

On the north side of Old San Juan and a bit of a walk from the cruise ship piers, this small and unprepossessing restaurant offers food that is generous in quantity for price and distinctive in its palatability. No gimics. No over-doing of an ingredient or style. No classic presentation without substance. Delicious mushroom and brie soup, perfect pecan pie,... more

As a local of Old San Juan I find myself wandering into St. Germain Bistro all the time. I take part in their their fabulous Sunday brunches, extensive and varied menu and I can't get enough of their coffee...plus the ambiance of the restaurant is nice, it's air conditioned and fresh, the wait staff are attentive and nice, the food... more

We stopped by for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. The place was hopping with locals. Although busy we were able to grab a quick seat. My husband and I are very straight forward in the food we like and don't tend to stray from the basics. With that being said, we were hesitant give St. Germain a try since they... more

We loved this eclectic Provencal-style bistro in the heart of Old San Juan. Owner Paola from Queretaro and her Puerto Rican husband lived in France and learned to cook from authentic French hands. Fresh food, exotic drinks (try lemonade with shaved ginger root) and reasonable prices ensure that we will return every time we are in San Juan. more

The owners and staff at St Germain's really exceeded our expectations when we held our rehearsal dinner there. We read about St Germain's here on trip advisor and gave them a call. When planning the event, the options were very numerous, flexible and the prices were very reasonable. What we really liked about the menu was the food was very... more

We happened upong this restaurant after a long hot morning of sightseeing. We had asked a policeman where a good local restaurant was and he pointed us to the St. Germain. The restaurant is definitely a place where the local business people dine. The decor is simple and and inviting with many interesting accent pieces. The food is fresh, healthy... more

The food was wonderful. You may have to wait a bit because the food is prepared to order, but it's worth it. We had delicious salads - even the bacon was made specially for our order. I also had fresh lemonade, which comes unsweetened - you can add the amount of sugar you like to it. The service was very... more

This was my first meal in San Juan and it was memorable in all the right ways. Great variety of food (plenty of vegetarian options) and delicious drinks. Definitely recommend this place for local cuisine and a laid back atmosphere. more

We came across the cafe during the peak of the lunchtime heat. It is a beautiful space - air conditioned, yet open to the outside so not crazy cold. The staff was so friendly, especially Paola who kept our drinks filled and was friendly. I would recommend St. Germain a thousand times. Stop by here when in Old San Juan.... more
