On Sunday we were heading into Old San Juan to walk around. When we told the concierge in our hotel, she recommended we go to this restaurant in Old San Juan for breakfast. We took a cab and arrived on a very nice street to find a very simple little place. I must say that I did not think it... More

We decided to try here and get a late breakfast after reading the reviews. We had their mallorca with ham, egg and cheese as well as their pancakes. I didn't know what to expect of the mallorca. The sandwich was flat, just ok and covered in too much powdered sugar. The pancakes weren't that good; tasteless, flat and small. The... More

Mallorca was probably our best find in San Juan, and we ended up there several times, for lunch and breakfast. We ordered the chicken mofongo and the pork, both of which were well cooked and very delicious. We also tried the mallorcas without knowing what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. But who wouldn't be with so much powdered sugar?... More

This place is a small cafe, seems like a popular one amongst the locals. I read a few reviews complaining about the staff behavior and un-promptness but we went there twice during our stay in PR and always found them friendly. Maybe, one needs to sit at the high chairs... Coz that is what we did. Its a place that... More

Ran across this restaurant while walking. The pastry display in the window is very enticing. Needless to say, we had a pastry and came back for lunch. Food is pretty good and the service was good. The bad thing was that we were coming back for dinner another day and it was closed. Make sure you check when they are... More

It's just a bakery/breakfast diner place. Lonely Planet devotes almost a half page to Cafeteria Mallorca, talking of course about the Mallorca. So you have to try one. Good breakfast place with friendly staff and a favourable locals to tourist ratio.

I had the Mallorca with ham, egg and cheese - yum! Loved it. Cafe con keche was tasty too. My boyfriend had the pork chop for some reason with rice and beans. The pork was way over cooked to the point where the edges were folding up. Rice and beans were good though. Good prices.

Best authentic breakfast by far! Super quick service, busy diner style...pay at the counter and get your pastries and desserts to go and enjoy them in the square across the street. Get the Mallorca with ham, cheese, and egg, AND bacon :) Recommend parking at garages down south and walking just a bit.

Just left San Juan on a beautiful trip during Thanksgiving. Had the best pastries and doughnuts from cafe Mallorca. Including the ham,egg and cheese mallorca, soft and delicious! What a treat! It's not fancy at all, many of the locals dwell in this dive. Close to shopping and many attractions stop in first for breakfast! Service fast and friendly!

Frequented by locals, always a good sign. nothing fancy, several blocks up from the harbor. Good service and good food for short money.
