Everything here was absolutely fabulous!!! This low key diner atmosphere hole in the wall is exactly what I was looking for and was my favorite place in San Juan. We came back twice. The empanada pollo was amazing and the rice & beans were my favorite all week. Go.

Great breakfast/lunch spot shared by tourists and locals. We really loved the Mallorcas and tried several kinds. Ham and swiss in a powdered-sugar covered pastry? You betcha! Had to return for more on our last morning. I would really love to have some more right now!

This was our first time in San Juan so we did not know what to expect. What a surprise! Food was great, service was fast and price was reasonable. Had the meat stuffed plantains.

I loved the Mallorca, powdered pastry, but the woman ringing me up didn't like that I was taking it to go. Glad I only gave them a little business.

We visited on Sunday morning which appears to be a popular time here. Going off of the recommendations here, we tried the Mallorca and was pleasantly surprised. It reminded us of a Cuban sandwich (sort of) but was very good. We ordered coffee and surprising, it already had cream added. Though typically picky about this, the amount they added was... More

We have eaten here any number of times over the past decade and it's a good stand-by. The food is mediocre but the atmosphere and lack of fussiness make up for it. The coffee tastes like instant to me, so I'd suggest, if you're a coffee-hound, go elsewhere. There are a couple of new coffee houses around town that will... More

The Mallorca- a sweet roll, either split and filled with breakfast protein or doused in butter; either way, toasted in a pannini press and topped with powdered sugar. Absolute heaven and very reasonably priced. I had it done 2 ways- as a ham, egg and cheese, and just with butter. Both were just incredible. And both went down wonderfully with... More

We were told to come here by someone who live and work in OSJ. Imagine old school diner style. There's a lot going on but staff is quick. Excellent pasteries and good PR food. We ordered chicken sandwich with fries, 2 coffee, rotisserie chicken with rice and beans and a couple of sweets( didn't know the names just pointed at... More

Loved Cafe Mallorca. The mallorca was fantastic. It was the first place we ate in Old San Juan and it did not dissapoint! I had the regular mallorca and he had the one with egg. The coffee con leche was also delicious, although I wish I would have ordered the orange juice because it is very freshly pressed! The atmosphere... More
