Great Breakfast Place

My wife and I had to try the Mallorcas. They were great. We ordered the ham, cheese and egg. I had 2 café con leche. Puerto Rican coffee is great. I was bouncing off walls for a couple of hours. We sat at the counter because it seemed like you received better service. This is a great... read more

The first morning we went here for breakfast, I ordered tostadas (toast). The waiter informed me that what I really wanted was a ham and cheese mallorca, He was right!

The food was good and prices reasonable. Served fast and hot. Beans were excellent. Now the bad! The appearance of the place needs to be improved. Ceiling tiles missing, uncoordinated and dirty. The waiter German was NOT very helpful and needs to improve his client service and knowledge of the food served. Maybe another waiter could had improve the experience.

Wife and I went to Cafeteria Mallorca for breakfast which in San Juan. Reminded me of the diners in my home state New Jersey. Really friendly and inviting. We had the ham and cheese Mallorca with powdered sugar. What a wonderful treat...you can't get back home!! The bacon was also exceptional, really thick and tasty. The coffee in Puerto Rico... More

I was really amazed with the service, the staff is very friendly and always make you feel welcome. The food is amazing! Prancing is fair. And if you had the opportunity have the natural orange juice with papaya or the lemonade! Just amazing.

PROS: Affordable, tasty, good food and dessert selection, complementary bread (soft and buttery), The Chicken Mofongo was delicious, the coffee espresso was good, and chocolate cake was great. My wife had the pepper chicken, it was decent, my favorite part were the plantains (soft and sweet). The server and cashier speak and understand enough English to accommodate non-Spanish speakers. We... More

We ate here for breakfast both days we visited San Juan. Inexpensive and delicious. You can always tell a good restaurant if the locals eat there. A Mallorca is like a Puerto Rican panini filled with ham and cheese then covered with powdered sugar. WOW! Delicious and filling. Their orange juice is fresh-squeezed. Husband loved the coffee so much we... More

Its a simple setup restaurant located in beautiful Old San Juan City. A combination of Spanish and Puerto Rican cuisine, great for breakfast or brunch with the family!

Had I discovered Cafeteria Mallorca on my first day in Old San Juan and not the last day, I would have eaten lunch there every single day. So much on the menu and so little time! Special thanks to German for the great service! If you want traditional Puerto Rican food that is DELICIOUS, Cafe Mallorca is the restaurant for... More

Awesome Mallorca's. No doubt about that. But........the waiters need to clean off the tables and chairs better. And they need a bigger spot. Place was so packed that we had to wait to be seated. And the whole standing in line to pay is annoying because there really isn't a designated place to stand without you standing right next to... More
