Cool Atmosphere

Aguaviva has a very unique atmosphere which was fun to be in if you're looking to have a change of pace in Old San Juan. The food, however, was just like any other Puerto Rican meal that I have eaten. It was good, but pricey, and I have eaten at other restaurants in OSJ with the same type of food... read more

Recently while in Old San Juan we visited Aquaviva. It is a great sea food restaurant. We started with watermelon sangria, progressed to gnocchi in a cream sauce with lobster, and ended with swordfish and fried shrimp. Each dish was wonderfully prepared and presented. The service was superb -- Billy was out waiter. He was friendly and helpful. We strongly... More

We were told thi was a good place by locals and looked at Tripadvisor reviews. The place was crowded which I like to see because I am always suspicious of an empty restaurant. Initially the apetizers were very good but we waited well over an hour for the entres. The waiter who was doing a good job came to the... More

While I don't recommend the truffle fries (very small order, not much truffle flavor), the paella was very good. They were also able to do separate checks for our large group.

This was a great recommendation. We started with 2 of their 6 ceviches. Served with fried plantains. Then went on to snapper and mashed plantains with lobster. My husband had mahi-mahi and some of the best sweet potatoes ever. Billy, our server was fantastic. They have a full bar with some very creative cocktails and many wines to choose from.

Wonderful seafood in a swanky spot in Ole San Juan! Make a reservation, ask for Billy to be your waiter and order the whole red snapper and tomato montzerella balls as a started! Cannot go wrong!

Our first meal in San Juan (And our Favorite). Seviche 6 ways. $39 for the 6 pack and worth it. Each dish was different from the other and a frenzy of flavors. Good service. We had a pitcher of the Watermelon Lime Sangria that was very refreshing. Find this place on Restaurant Row and enjoy.
