Excellent spot in Old San Juan to enjoy a good bottle of wine and excellent spanish inspired tapas at good prices. Period.

This cafe came highly recommended by the concierge at the Old San Juan Sheraton and it was a great choice. The tapas selections were varied and well priced. The wine sections and super moijitos were also a treat. The atmosphere inside and out was really cool also. We scouted out quite and few outside cafes around and really liked this... More

So happy to hear that we topped your list! We know that we're in good company on the restaurant front, so it really is quite a compliment. You'll have to come see us for a mojito the next time you're in San Juan -- we'd love to host you again! Thank you for letting us be part of your story,... More

Sat in the plaza listening to a live reggae band and enjoyed $5 ginger rosemary mojitos. Wanda enjoyed well-mixed caipirinhas. We also enjoyed some delicious papas bravas with a salcicia aioli. Potatos were cooked perfect. Our hostess, Patricia, was funny and engaging...she even taught me some local lingo.

Live music, mojitos, and local lingo? Couldn't ask for a better evening! So happy that you and Wanda both enjoyed so much. I'll be sure to pass along your kind words to Patricia. Will you be back in San Juan anytime soon? We'd love the opportunity to host you again! Thank you for letting us be part of your story,... More

It is a nice place, the food is nice but the prices are a bit high for it. The white tropical fruit sangría was outstanding though, would deffinetly go back but just for the drinks

There's just nothing like a cold glass of sangria after a day of exploring, is there? So happy to hear that you enjoyed, Daniela! The next time you're in, be sure to let us know what you did and didn't like about our food -- we'd be happy to point you towards something on our menu that might be more... More

Seeing that it's in old san juan, the prices are very good. Only thing that actually drove up the tab was the small jar of sangria that costs $24, but was very well worth it as the "small" was enough for my wife and me to each have 3 glasses. They mostly have tapas, but that's more than enough to... More

Food is very good but Daniel is the real asset. He is a great bartender, really knows his stuff and loves the art of mixology but also a great personality and fun to talk with. He recommended some other things for us to do during the evening which were right on target. ... But we came back to Toro Salao... More

My son was on a hunt for churros and after reading a review, we found our way to Toro Salao. While we did end up spending more money than expected on lunch, there were no regrets. I ordered the fish tacos and my family ordered the sliders. The tacos billed as an appetizer, were wonderful and more than enough to... More

We ate here for dinner and it so happen that during our visit they had a local gas leak which prevented gas cooking in a portion of Restaurant Row affecting a big portion of this block. Toro Salado was the only restaurant that didn't seem impacted and it got pretty busy quickly. We had the paella and it was very... More
