My son was on a hunt for churros and after reading a review, we found our way to Toro Salao. While we did end up spending more money than expected on lunch, there were no regrets. I ordered the fish tacos and my family ordered the sliders. The tacos billed as an appetizer, were wonderful and more than enough to... More

We ate here for dinner and it so happen that during our visit they had a local gas leak which prevented gas cooking in a portion of Restaurant Row affecting a big portion of this block. Toro Salado was the only restaurant that didn't seem impacted and it got pretty busy quickly. We had the paella and it was very... More

So happy we were able to provide you with a tasty meal, Shirls! We were definitely lucky to be unaffected by the gas troubles that evening, so it was our pleasure to serve up a great San Juan meal. The next time you're in, let your daughter know that we'll happily point her towards something else on the menu if... More

We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Arlene. She is definitely top shelf when it comes to bartenders in Old San Juan! And the food was excellent, too!

We had dinner here during our only evening in Old San Juan. The food is great, with a Spanish and Caribbean touch. I had some of the best calamari ever, and everyone in our party of six enjoyed the food. The creme bruele is great as well.

I never get tired of Toro Salao; if I could at least come on a weekly basis I will and that's why I have to writte more than one review for them. The staff is always so nice, the food is excellent. This Sunday we just had some tapas such as the empanadas, hummus, fish, etc. everything is so good and... More

It was our last night to enjoy in beautiful Puerto Rico. My family and I had just finished the last tour of the day at the Bacardi Distillery and although our hotel was quite a ways from Old San Juan, we decided this was going to be the town my family would share its last island dinner. We were short... More

After walking around Old San Juan shopping, my family and I had dinner at Toro Salao. The meatball tapas were unbelievable! My younger son just wanted French fries and they were seasoned perfectly! My husband wanted seafood paella, and I wanted vegetarian (I don't like seafood), but the waiter said one order would be enough for both of us. The... More

First time in Puerto Rico and Old San Juan was a favorite - The tapas and drinks were great, service was friendly, smiling and tended to the local after work happy hour crowd as well as us gringos.
