As a budget traveler, I like to stick to local places that are affordable. Al Dente is an Italian restaurant (the oldest in San Juan) that is quite good but was a little pricey for my taste. The food was good, though. I had an antipasto plate, lasagna and finished with a coffee and goat cheese cheesecake with raspberry puree.... More

I visited Al Dente over a weekday in the beginning of July for dinner. The locale, decor and service was excellent. We ordered white wines by the glass, which were both very good. The bruschetta was good for the price, the cheese and tomatoes added great flavour to it. I also ordered the shrimp pasta, which turned out to be... More

In Puerto Rico good Italian restaurants are few and far between, but this is one of the good ones. If you want a change of menu, try Al Dente. Located on the street where all the Criollo restaurants are, it is usually not very full. The lasagna is great and fills you up.

We ate a very late lunch here, so we all ordered foods on the lighter side. I had a very fresh salad with chicken, walnuts and apples. It was delicious. My husband had the Caesar Salad and he also enjoyed it. The menu looked fantastic, but we just did not want something heavy at the time.

The service was very nice and the table on the patio outside added a special element to our dinner. We all had different pasta dishes and they all were wonderful. We especially loved their risotto special.

We had a very good experience at this place. Their service was truly outstanding and the food was good too. The waiters were very friendly and welcoming. One of the infants in our group had an accident (threw up) and our waiter went above and beyond to help us out, before we even requested for help. That really left a... More

Outstanding meal. We each had exceptional meals. The escargot, chicken catarina, and lasagna with beef where all well prepared and superb in their presentation. A memorable experience.

Al Dente is a wonderful restaurant, whether you sit inside or at the bar. My favorite outside. The wine tasting on Thursday nights is great! John Carlos and his staff are personable and attentive in every way. They love what they do and cater to their guests needs. Stop by for a drink, appetizer, tasting or dinner, you won't be... More
