Great Atmosphere, Average Service

This place is beautiful and you should definitely visit, simply for the location. Rick's is located atop a cliff which offers the unusual opportunity to watch brave (?) tourist and local people jump the several meters into the crystal clear water below. It gets a bit tense at times. Don't... read more

So I went to Rick's Cafe specifically to jump and hear live music. I jumped and it was so scary, but super fun. I hit the water kind of awkwardly so my leg is bruised, similar to a belly flop. The food and drinks were just so so. The chicken cheese dip was good though. We also went at about... More

We went in the middle of the day and the crowds were not that bad. We were able to go jump off the cliffs without being bothered. Great time. I jumped off the tallest one, so much fun!!

Went back to Ricks for the first time since hurricane Gilbert knocked it down. And personally, I think they should have left it down. Overall the feeling was a cruise ship excursion, not the quaint laid back sunset place of th good old days. So my best advice is jump and run.

The music was awesome and the expertise cliff divers were actually incredible and so much fun to watch. We just had a couple of drinks and had an awesome time hanging out and watching the cliff jumpers and hanging out with the locals. You must be careful jumping off the cliffs because there have been deaths that have occurred, so... More

The definition of Tourist trap!!! Over Crowded! Over Priced! If you like to be elbow to elbow with tourist bussed in from all over Jamaican than this is the place for you! The pool seemed slimy with all the overly sunscreened people, drinks were high dollar and took forever to arrive. We ordered appetizers only and it turned out to... More

There really isn't a better place to watch the sunset from land than from the bar at Rick's. The cliff diving near sunset is difficult due to the dozens (hundreds?) or people being ferried back to their sunset cruise catamarans. The cliff area is very crowded; one drunk sorority girl mashed her cigarette into my arm, and it seems like... More

As soon as we go in, we go harassed by the cliff divers/lifeguards of money and tips. Barely had time to sit at a table and the divers were back asking for money. Like jeez give me a minute. If you want a table you need to buy drinks and food. As soon as your done they pretty much ask... More
