Delicious, authentic food and experiences

Researching for our trip to Negril, I came upon Ras Rody's and thought my vegetarian mother and I (not vegetarian) should go have some lunch and try the food based on the excellent reviews. I wasn't convinced, thinking the food was probably going to be pretty good, but that I would miss the meat... read more

If you'r going through west end road eg. towards the lighthouse, barneys humming bird garden or Rick's cafe its a must! Although dining conditions are not 5* but it doesn't matter. Rody is a brilliant guy, not only his cooking is nice but he's also a great guy to chat with! Be sure to visit Rody for a quite early... More

Loved this place. Small roadside hut with a single bench cooking up delicious vegan ital food at lunchtime. Great conversation, authentic experience despite being so close to Negril, places like this makes us keep wanting to return to Jamaica :)

Shadrock treated us to an unforgettable Jamaican ital (vegan/organic) lunch. His food is full of flavor and he takes pride in his cooking process. Sit down and eat at his bench and he will tell you how he cooks it and where he comes from. Expect a great meal for $7, and I recommend getting a cup of soup too!... More

For those visiting for the first time Ras Rody's is directly facing the entrance to the Tensing Pen Hotel which is 150 yards to the left as you leave Rick's Cafe. As previously stated in my first review the food is delicious and cheaper than that served at Ricks Cafe. Hope everyone enjoys themselves if and when you decide to... More

Visited this establishment on several occasions and enjoyed everything we ate. Very polite staff and the local people made us welcome. Close to Rick's Cafe where the divers show their talent from the high sided cliffs to an audience of hundreds of people. Ricks Cafe is expensive for food and drink so take a walk of 100 yards to this... More

Whether you call this ital or organic, you're guaranteed to enjoy the healthy vegetarian food at Ras Rody. The main man wasn't there when we visited so his daughter was manning the stove. We got a combo plate with rice and peas, warm cabbage, bean & sweet potato stew, and more. Although the food was a bit undersalted we definitely... More
