Lionfish and Dirty Bananas overlooking the beautiful waters of Negril

While staying in Negril we kept hearing about The Canoe Bar and Grill, so we decided to give it a try. A gentleman from Chicago, who is married to a local woman and has been to Negril many times, suggested the lionfish escoviche. My wife (of 3 days, married on the beach in Negril) and I and a... read more

Our visit to Canoe Bar would have been so much nicer if the restaurant owners would ban smoking in the indoor parts of the restaurant. We arrived for lunch, and sat in a relatively empty part of the restaurant. Unfortunately, after we sat down, we were quickly surrounded by French and American tourists who seemed intent on fumigating the air... More

We had the Lion Fish and chips at Canoe for a sunset dinner one evening. Great location with it's own little beach and indoor or outdoor dining areas. Food was well presented and delicious. Congratulations to Canoe for serving Lion Fish which is an ecological nightmare for other marine life around Negril. The batter was perfect, the fries hand cut... More

Canoe Bar is our local when we are in Negril. The breakfasts, lunches and dinners are all very good. If you enjoy morning coffee be sure to try the Canoe French Press coffee, it's worth the wait. I love to go for a morning swim and then pop up to the deck at Canoe for a fabulous cuppa joe with... More

Fantastic spot on the best beach in Negril! The food is good, if not a little inconsistent. The Service is good, if not the same. You have to slow your rhythms when you go on holiday in Jamaica and realise you're not fine dining in a huge urban centre. Soon come. The drinks are great, well priced and fly out... More

After such rave reviews this year we decided to try Canoe Bar and Restaurant again after a negative experience in December 2014. The table reserved was not there for us and it took 15 minutes for our drink order. We weren't asked for our dinner order for 20 minutes and then my husband had to go ask to order. We... More

Once again we decided to visit Canoe on an evening that hosts a web cast and a steel drum band. We arrived at happy hour and enjoyed a couple of 2 for 1 Dirty Bananas. We enjoyed a couple of appetizers. Our meal came not exactly as ordered. My husband received a meal he didn't order and I received 2... More

I went here mostly due to the location, I knew that had a nice deck overlooking the beach and ocean. The drinks I had were good; specifically the banana shakes. They also do great homemade fries which are rare in Negril, they were very much appreciated! They use mostly cheap liquor in mixed drinks, therefore ask what is in a... More

Went to the Canoe based on great reviews and live music. The music was live ( and quite good ) but the food was sketchy ( think food poisoning ). Slow service and semi-rancid mayo based sauce. Maybe it's too busy on the nights they have a band?
