I've been a faithful diner at the Pork Pit in Montego Bay, even when it was located across the road from the Decameron hotel, (formerly JackTar). It's newer location (probably about 20 years here) is easily reached, because EVERYONE in Montego Bay can provide directions. Without being long-winded, or going into great detail about which is the "best" jerk, chicken... More

We stopped here last night to grab some take out and were glad we did! We tried the jerk chicken, ribs and shrimp. All of them were delicious! The jerk was spicy but not too hot that you couldn't enjoy all of the flavors. We'll definitely go back on our next trip to Mobay!

we were staying at the Sandals in Montego bay and bribed the bus driver to stop and let us get some take out. Everything was amazing. True authentic flavors just amazing jerk pork and chicken. My only regret was I didnt get any sausage. Ill have to go back again just for that! The best experience on the island when... More

A must do while visiting MBJ- this place has been around for 20 something years, it's moved but it's worth a taxi ride stop on the way to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville's! Down from the Hip strip, a rustic place, very safe! Enjoy

Our guide brought us here for some local jerk. He helped us order at the walk up counter. We enjoyed seeing the meat cooking. The photos previously posted are accurate. We tried both the chicken and the pork with an ice cold Red Stripe to wash it down. Our recommendation is go for the chicken! Don't miss trying the festival... More

When in Montego Bay Jamaica, my husband ventured out for some shopping and we stumbled upon the Pit. Needless to say we weren't impressed. We had better jerk in the States and at our resort "Sandals - Carlyle". The jerk chicken was burned and the shrimp we ordered was so hot the local stray cats wouldn't even come near it.... More

Recommended by our driver/guide for the day some friends and I had lunch at the pork pit where we indulged in some jerk Pork, jerk Chicken, festivals (Jamaican hush puppies) and some of the hottest pepper sauce I have ever eaten. Fortunately there was plenty of Red Stripe to wash it down. Judging by the number of locals on hand... More

The meat was dried out and didn't have much flavor. We fixed that by mixing up a concoction of scotch bonnet pepper sauce and ketchup to dip the meat in, but overall I wasn't completely impressed with the food. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. The sausage we ordered was the best tasting meat we had and was much... More

I am more familiar with the original pork pit that was located at the opposite end of the hip strip.I was quite disappointed with this Pork pit version I found the meats to be quite dry and lacking flavor. There are other locations in MoBay that is far better all the way around. I have even purchased from young boys... More

Excellent authentic jerk! I would recommend a visit to The Pork Pit if you are visiting Montego Bay. It was amazing to see the chef at work. The place is small but the service and food were both great.
