Description: The Mamma Luisa Bar Trattoria its a very special place, that surge for the passion and great cooking taste of Mrs Luisa Patrovita. Who is Italian as well and since 1960's as a destiny matter, has been related to this land as her own. Mrs Luisa is dedicated to this business among with her daughter and son (Rossana and Joaquin) who help her running the business. La Mamma (as is called by all her customers) arrived to the Punta Cana zone at the end of the 90's almost as a casualty called basically by her long time friend Mr. Frank Rainieri and the need at the moment to find someone reliable and trustful for managing one of the most beautiful restaurant in the zone...LA YOLA. located at the Punta Cana Marine. Then, after several years of successful management of this place and created a brand name...(Mamma Luisa).. became along with her daughter Rossana who had been arrived from Italy too, the idea to give birth that name with a new establishment at the Punta Cana Bowling Center that was just beginning to develop. The business opened its doors on May 11th of 2004 and since then and thanks to the huge support given by the customers not just locals but also foreigners that regularly visit the place, has maintain its development along with the great evolution of Punta Cana.At Mamma Luisa, without any doubts, the customers feel like in their own houses as well, and reflects the design of the establishment... A native typical house full of Italian details... it is a fusion of the typical traditional structure and the Italians as well !! You could enjoy a very fine wine or a very chilly beer, meanwhile listening not just a very good Italian music but also a Juan Luis Guerra Merengue...., you could see pictures of the entire Patrovita family at the different corners of the place and without any doubts will enjoy a delicious dish made with the very fresh ingredients and then after a BOUN APPETITO said by Mrs Luisa, who just in a very rare occasions (like a very deserved vacation) ...will be leading her kitchen !!!

From the outside does not look like much but the food was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive. Wife enjoyed the salmon.

My husband and I shared fried calimari and Italian sausage for appetizers. Garlic bread was brought to the table. Dinner was spinach lasagna and pesto seafood pasta . The cost of our meal was $2329 Dominican pesos. [About $43 Dominican dollars to $1 American dollar). We sat outside and it was nice and cool. The restaurant is in Punta Cana... More

I've eaten here on a number of occasions since coming to Punta Cana. I'd stick with the pasta dishes. They do a fairly good job at that. The service is friendly and efficient and the prices are moderate.

We are staying at the new Westin in Punta Cana and have been going to the "Village" for dinner almost every night. It is a 5 min drive by shuttle which is free. We made reservations for an outdoor table for 4 the day before when we were at the Village at another place. The reservation was for 8 pm.... More

we enjoyed a nice lunch with family at Mamma Luisa after having some frustrating experiences at restaurants inside the Punta Cana Resort. This is a great alternative due to its location. The food is a steady great tasting italian, not contrived like you often get in other resort locations. The staff was perfectly attentive, great with both spanish and english.

Don't judge this restaurant by its small size because the food is outstanding! The menu is very extensive and my husband and I enjoyed a great meal here during our last night in Punta Cana. We hand some of the best sangrias we've had in a while and the chef was very accommodating with modifying my dish based on my... More

A nice Italian Trattoria atmosphere... Like you're at 'La Nona's' Dining Room at the italian countryside. Superb flavors! Not to high prices. A Gastronomic Experience worth enjoying!

Great place. Well-prepared food and a great value. We took a quiet table outside for our party of eight. The wait staff was very helpful. Our food took a bit longer than expected to come out, but quite understandable as it was a slow day and our group was large. All plates were great. I'll recommend the Cordon-Blue Chicken with...
