Description: The Mamma Luisa Bar Trattoria its a very special place, that surge for the passion and great cooking taste of Mrs Luisa Patrovita. Who is Italian as well and since 1960's as a destiny matter, has been related to this land as her own. Mrs Luisa is dedicated to this business among with her daughter and son (Rossana and Joaquin) who help her running the business. La Mamma (as is called by all her customers) arrived to the Punta Cana zone at the end of the 90's almost as a casualty called basically by her long time friend Mr. Frank Rainieri and the need at the moment to find someone reliable and trustful for managing one of the most beautiful restaurant in the zone...LA YOLA. located at the Punta Cana Marine. Then, after several years of successful management of this place and created a brand name...(Mamma Luisa).. became along with her daughter Rossana who had been arrived from Italy too, the idea to give birth that name with a new establishment at the Punta Cana Bowling Center that was just beginning to develop. The business opened its doors on May 11th of 2004 and since then and thanks to the huge support given by the customers not just locals but also foreigners that regularly visit the place, has maintain its development along with the great evolution of Punta Cana.At Mamma Luisa, without any doubts, the customers feel like in their own houses as well, and reflects the design of the establishment... A native typical house full of Italian details... it is a fusion of the typical traditional structure and the Italians as well !! You could enjoy a very fine wine or a very chilly beer, meanwhile listening not just a very good Italian music but also a Juan Luis Guerra Merengue...., you could see pictures of the entire Patrovita family at the different corners of the place and without any doubts will enjoy a delicious dish made with the very fresh ingredients and then after a BOUN APPETITO said by Mrs Luisa, who just in a very rare occasions (like a very deserved vacation) ...will be leading her kitchen !!!

Great place. Well-prepared food and a great value. We took a quiet table outside for our party of eight. The wait staff was very helpful. Our food took a bit longer than expected to come out, but quite understandable as it was a slow day and our group was large. All plates were great. I'll recommend the Cordon-Blue Chicken with... Everyone kept telling us to eat at Mamma Luisa. I am not a huge Italian food fan and avoided it for nearly the entire month we were in DR. And then we took our friends there who were visiting. The food and service were OUTSTANDING! We enjoyed the food so much that we ate there three more times after our... More

Surprisingly the food was very good. They have an English menu which is helpful but not a lot of wait staff that speaks English, so just point and they will reference the Spanish menu. Went back a few times, really enjoyed it.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. We ate on Sunday night and had to wait for it to open at 7 pm but it was worth it. Fast service. Good wine. Great marinara sauce, bruschetta, Caesar salad and Nutella creeps.

Beautiful place to visit with some friends, but if your hungry be smart. The food here is ok, and the prices are high.

I love it...@ the bar we taste a lot of nice Drinks. The Italian Food wasn't really tasty as an Italian Restaurant. But generally I recommend this place
