Worth the Walk

I stay at a place in Bavaro and we did the walk around the beach one evening to this place. Wonderful place for lunch or dinner. The menu is on the wall. Lots of variety. I was with someone that spoke spanish however our server did not seem to have a problem serving me or taking my request for... read more

REAL Dominican seafood. Best place we ate in Punta Cana. It was a little intimidating walking there from the beach because the local store owners bombard you asking you to come in to their shop but just say no thank you and move on. Food and service here was great.

This place has been in business for a long time and is a dive on the beach. It cannot get any better than that and it is a very good value to boot. Eating a mixed grill of seafood and meat on the beach with a cold Presidente is a very enjoyable experience that is hard to match. We will... More

Everyone told us how good this place was. I should have known better when I saw the flies around the ice chest that held the day's catch. My son and I got a pound of shrimp a piece ($27 per pound). It tasted great. But we both got severe diarrhea. My wife and daughter got the grouper and had no... More

I took a taxi for four- $15 (plus extra $2 for tip) from Bavaro Princess. Yeah, yeah, a bit pricey, but Punta Cana is a mayor touristic spot, so I wasn't shocked. We had great food at the resort but I couldn't leave Punta Cana without a visit to the popular Captain Cook. It came highly recommended with raving reviews.... More

2nd time to Cc - beyond outstanding service & amazing food! Best fresh seafood I've ever had in my life - highly recommend to anybody visiting Punta Cana. We enjoyed the seafood platter (see photos) & it was more than enough food for 2 people !! Director Ivan took outstanding care of us from start to finish, including notifying our... More

Do not fill your eyes with whatever is on the grill. I choose a 10 inch grouper. Also I got a small Presidente beer . The fish came with oily cold fries ( potato chips style fries ). I paid 52 dollars for that ! Prices are crazy in there. Get away from there. You better spend that amount on... More

Capt Cooks is about 15 mins walk from Barcelo beach. We ordered the steak and seafood platter which was just awesome, A little pricey but well worth the trip and photos.

We visited late one night (after 10pm in low season, place was pretty empty). We saw a couple of guys who had been out fishing bring in their catch to sell to the restaurant. When we saw how fresh the seafood was we decided to come back the next night to try it out for dinner. You select your seafood... More

At Captain Cook's Restaurant, you get to pick your seafood from their impressively large chest, and order it cooked to your liking: grilled, fried, pan-seared, whatever! This is a place that boost an open-air atmosphere, literally! Fifty percent of it is open to the sun, sky, and the beachfront is its backdrop wall! This place is enjoyed by locals and... More
