Description: Sol Food is a small casual place where we (David and Sunshine) serve lunch and dinner on our deck. We live downstairs and have a 3 bedroom vacation rental upstairs, Sunshine Getaway. Westpunt is at the far west end of the island and is quite small. Our home is on the Weg Naar Playa Kalki about a half mile before you get to the Lodge Kura Hulanda. To find us, take the road across from Jaanchie's restaurant and a left between the cemetery and ball field. If you any trouble finding us, ask anyone where we live.We are a part of our community and the island. David has a mountain bike club for the boys in town, the Westpunt Riders Boys Mountain Bike Club and I am involved with the American Women's Club and a few other organizations around Curacao. We do not have the luxury of American wholesalers or grocery stores and I shop every Thursday with fingers crossed that I'll be able to find all that we need for Sol Food. We are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday noon to 9PM, reservations are recommended. There are only 9 tables and it is hard to accommodate any group larger than 8 guests. The Lodge has a banquet room. Besides the Lodge and Jaanchies, you can eat at Misje or Rancho Sobrino here in town. Our menu is simple; pizza, salads and/or tuna, shrimp, tilapia, snapper, steak, chicken, hot dogs or hamburgers from the grill. We hire the boys from the bike club and a couple of local women. We are not a high end restaurant nor do we wish to be one. Many of the boys have worked for us 3 or 4 years and returning guests have been able to see how they have progressed not only in life but with their language and social skills. We find that those who chose to stay in Westpunt are laid back and casual, most of them are snorkelers, divers or mountain bikers. Many have become friends and we all enjoy seeing each other when they return. If you are staying in Westpunt or Lagun, Sol Food is a great place to meet with old or new friends and have something to eat. But really folks, it's just simple American food. If you are staying in Santa Barbara, Jan Theil or Jan Sofat, it is over an hour drive one way. We highly recommend that you do take the drive to see the beaches and National Parks. If you have time, come by for lunch or an early dinner and drive back during the daylight. We are 45 minutes from Lions Dive, Sunscape and the Royal Sea Aquarium and 35 minutes from the Renaissance, Hilton and Marriott. There is such a variety of great places to eat all over Curacao. We hope you enjoy your stay.

We try to visit Sol Food at least one time for a pizza lunch when we're hitting one of the western beaches. Each time it is consistently excellent and the owner, Sunshine, always has a few new things to talk to us about that are happening on Curaçao. A very casual place where you can relax and feel like you're... More

I read several reviews about the pizza so we ordered that. It was NOT good. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you I had a frozen one that tasted better. I didn't rate the service because frankly it's the islands and everything is slow. But I really hated that the ice melted before I can even drink my beverage and... More

We ate at Sol Food twice while on vacation in Curaçao in October 2012, and that still wasn't enough! We enjoyed the pizza which was fantastic! They even bring you out additional toppings like minced garlic to add on top. The drinks, food and service was fantastic. Sunshine and her husband were welcoming and great to talk to. The view... Excellent thin crust pizza, gorgeous salads and homemade burgers along with friendly, informative owners, brought us back again before our vacation was over!

I don't know how anyone could say the food was average - it was outstanding (I will try to attach a photo of my husband's amazing looking snapper!). I've been all over the world and this was a gem of a find. The owner used to be a caterer - I mean you can't go wrong!! My 17 year old... More

Got a burger and a hotdog with cokes, paid around 26 dollars. Maybe in local tourist prices cheap but for me pretty average experience as food was plain and nothing special. View was great and personnel very friendly, but wouldn't come from very far for the food alone.

My boyfriend and I ate at Sol Food this past week while visiting Curacao. This place is amazing! The food is excellent and reasonably priced, but its the atmosphere that is the real draw. The owner Sunshine makes you feel like family as soon as you walk in the door. She even gave us a packet that explains all the... More

We stopped here on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. I had read all of the raving reviews on here but honestly wasn't expecting that much. I was surprised! The pizza was outstanding. I think I ate almost an entire one by myself. The garlic topping provided to go with it really hit the spot. Sunshine was extremely friendly... More

My family and I art here and loved it. The pizza is excellent. Also had a killer brownie sundae. It's a lovely setting up in the trees and overlooking the beach. Totally worth the drive from Willemstad. We made a day of it first visiting the flamingoes, the Shete Boka, and lunch at Sol. Sunshine is a wonderful hostess. She... More

My husband and I ate here on three separate occasions for dinner. The food is really good and offered at a very reasonable price. We had the pizza and salad, fish, shrimp, mac-n-cheese (if they have this, get it, it’s to die for and not always on the menu), steak and chicken, all of which was excellent. On Sunday we... More
