Wide selection, good music, lovely setting

This open air yet under cover restaurant served all the items we had come to expect in a Cuban restaurant: lots of meat, ropa vieja, rice, beans and a smattering of salads. Although the waiter didn't appear particularly enthused, our orders were taken promptly and our food didn't take long to... read more

We were shopping in Varadero and came across this restaurant for lunch. We enjoyed the food very much (compared to the resort food). We enjoyed it so much that we brought the rest of the guests we were travelling with (18 more people) back for dinner a couple of nights later. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and the live entertainment that... More

We had dinner here one evening and it was definately not the best we have had in all of Cuba. The waiter was not very friendly and not helpful at all. The chicken was supposedly a specialty there and it was bland. There were almost no other people in the restaurant. The toilet facilities were filthy and that says a... More

Menu is vast enough, lots of meats, fish and seafood. We had the Misto Criollo dish which is actually plenty to feed two: an assortment of sliced porc roast, pulled braised beef and roasted chicken, served with rice and beans...all for 9CUC. Beer is 1CUC per can. The place wasn't packed, but it was busy. Many local drivers (taxi/bus) having... More

This lovely open air restaurant in Varadero is full of fun and laughter. The 53 Oldsmobile at the front of the restaurant is nostalgic. Food and service is excellent. The Manager Leonardo can not do enough to make your dinning experience authentica!

Food was average, waiter very uninterested. Portions are big enough, service was very fast, a bit too fast maybe (we received our dishes, a mixed grill and ropa vieja with rice, black bean sauce and boiled potatoes less than 10 minutes after ordering, which seems impossible if it was only made after ordering). There are much better places to eat... More

Great atmosphere with live music and cuban menu. Not expensive unless you want to have the lobster which was well worth the 22.80 cuc. We went 2 days in a row having such a great time the first day. We met with friends at our hotel, hailed an open cadillac taxi on the road, had drinks, listened to the great... More

You have to try local food, prepared in traditional fashion....We did just that on our recent visit to Varadero....We were way too early for the dinner hour and had the restaurant practically to ourselves with the band playing on valiantly.....When the place gets filled with diners it looks like it could be a very lively spot...... I was hoping for... More

Delicious and excellently sized portions of typical cuban food (meat+rice+frijoles) served with live music and very friendly staff.
