Although big and bustling, this is the place I come back to for wonderful comfort food-limited menu so specially seasoned chicken with frijoles and rice. Not much more, not fancy but delicious. It's located in lovely Miramar and makes a wonderful lunch stop when checking out Miramar.

This is a very special restaurant with extraordinary service. There is a feeling that you are eating at your friends house that makes this even more enjoyable. We were part of a large party and they took very good care of us. It is especially nice to have the real Cuban food that is mildly spicy and very tasty. as... More

Located in Miramar (like a suburb of Havana), this had great atmosphere and delicious food. I was told before I went to Cuba that the food is bland and that it is not very good - boy, were they wrong. This restaurant had the best chicken and they had a sauce that was made up of olive oïl, onions, and... More

Authentic Cuban cuisine. Simple, yet tasty. Great atmosphere and appeal, with very friendly service. We had chicken and pork, with white rice and black beans; accompanied by tostones. They serve a house broth/gravy over the rice...very tasty. My favorite was the pork. Order plates to share in order to taste everything. They will keep adding rice and beans all you... More

lovely food, in fact the best Cuban food we had on this trip. Atmosphere was lovely, food was plentiful and hot, chicken especially was very hot and crispy, the black beans were so lovely with the rice I really enjoyed this meal. I really would recommend this restaurant to everybody.

I've been to cuba 3 times now.. 10/12 and now july of this year.. eaten at this restaurant enough to know the quality of the food is not the same, and not because its gotten better.. but rather the chicken is dry and being this their house specialty, than they should try to make it and keep it as good... I have visited El Aljibe on several occasions and I always decide to order the chicken, rice and 'frijoles negros' (black beans in tasty sauce) which is the dish that has made the restaurant popular. You can eat all you want for the same price and the staff seldom lets you sit with an empty plate for more than seconds.... More

Had I found this sooner during my trip, I would have insisted on visiting again. I still think of this place sometimes when I crave grilled chicken. The restaurant offers a lovely, comfortable open air dining room and an opportunity to taste traditional Cuban food at its finest. Do not miss this one!

The chicken is fab! So moist and served with a wonderful gravy. Of course beans and rice too:-) We had a platter of appetizers that were fried, and very tasty. Potatoes, yam and something else unknown:-) Dessert was guava ice cream with caramel sauce. YUM! The only distraction was that the restaurant has the look and feel of Hawaii. Go... More
