Don't expect a fancy menu or ambiance. Expect Cuban food that tastes great and friendly staff who will provide all the refills you'll want. The chicken and gravy here were probably the best we've tasted in Cuba.

I used to travel to Havana-Cuba quite on bit on business during 2000-2002 - probably every other month for 3 days. On EVERY trip, we always went to El Aljibe one evening for dinner, and for good reasons: 1. Great local food.....although I just confess I always ordered the same thing - chicken with red beans and rice, the house... More

The secret recipe roasted chicken is their specialty and it was better than most other places we ate on this tour. Of course there is always the big servings of white rice and beans to go with it. The open air restaurant itself is located in a nice residential area of Miramar. Jimmy Carter, Jack Nicholson and Danny Glover are... More

We had dinner here twice while in Cuba. It seems to cater to a lot of tour groups but there were plenty of tables available and the service was very fast, which was an anomaly in Cuba-at least in our experience. The chicken is fantastic, as are the black beans and fried plantains.

Enjoy the cuban and International cousin. Very good black beans soup and chicken. Good service and good price.

Our first meal in Cuba was a simple, but tasty dinner at El Ajibe. We would see many of the same menu items throughout our tour, but the family-style servings of chicken, rice, beans, sweet potatoes, fried plantains, chicken croquettes and coconut ice cream left everyone full and satisfied. Service was friendly and welcoming.

Although big and bustling, this is the place I come back to for wonderful comfort food-limited menu so specially seasoned chicken with frijoles and rice. Not much more, not fancy but delicious. It's located in lovely Miramar and makes a wonderful lunch stop when checking out Miramar.

This is a very special restaurant with extraordinary service. There is a feeling that you are eating at your friends house that makes this even more enjoyable. We were part of a large party and they took very good care of us. It is especially nice to have the real Cuban food that is mildly spicy and very tasty. as... More

Located in Miramar (like a suburb of Havana), this had great atmosphere and delicious food. I was told before I went to Cuba that the food is bland and that it is not very good - boy, were they wrong. This restaurant had the best chicken and they had a sauce that was made up of olive oïl, onions, and... More
