Great Paellas

The portions here are huge, which sort of make up for the pricier than average meal. We love paella and normally find ourselves running a little short on paella towards the end of a meal. At El Templete, we had enough paella left over to feed a third person! We went for the seafood paella, which... read more

It's location is very beautiful along the coast. The staff is very friendly and professional. The quality of the food is great and fresh but the best thing here is capirinha which i can say is the best cocktail in all Habana.Definitively will be back at this restaurant

We had a lovely romantic meal here. Lovely setting and one of the more formal restaurants in havana. Even though there wasnt much on the menu for me as a vegetarian , the staff tried to be really accommodating and I enjoyed what I had. First class service.

This restaurant is by the bay in Old Havana. Sit outside so you can see all the old cars go by, the locals fishing along the banks and see the old fort across the bay. If you stay long enough (9PM) you might even be able to hear the cannon go off. The fish here was great, I forgot what... More

Havana's bay was a decisive geographical factor to choose the city's present site and El Templete faces the harbor giving the traveler a pretty good idea of this strategic location!

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to lunch here and we were not disappointed. The starters were the size of a main mean but were lovely - hummus and red snapper slices, followed by fish stuffed with lobster and serrano ham. There is an extensive wine list and we were given some background info by the sommelier. Definitely... More

Not a good treat. Bad service, food first than drinks (cocktails, ordered as aperitif). I ordered Cuban mineral water and got the twice as expensive Italian imported water. Our comment to this was not appreciated at all. We had Tuna, worst ever. Dry and mine was addled. Was sick of it for 2 days. And it was also to expensive... More

of the service level in a state run restaurant! They have excellent wine selection and most amazing lamb. Also non traditional (for Cuba) coctails are recommended as they really know how make them)

This was one of our favorite restaurants in Havana. El Templete serves delicious, fresh fish and seafood along with the usual beans and rice. We ate shrimps in butter and garlic, red snapper with potatoes and enjoyed a Chilean wine. Service is friendly, the restaurant is easy to find, although the patio is situated on a busy street, but the... More
