Good food

I understand that is one of the best restaurants in Havana, food was good, especially the octopus salad, we could find also some "real" Coca Cola Light which is not easy there, the staff was friendly, in spite of the fact that they don't speak any English, only Spanish

Came with a group of 25 for lunch. Appetizers were savory stuffed peppers, croquetas, and malanga and the entree was a flavorful fish with vegetables and rice. Located very conveniently near Havana Vieja and a great spot to stop during your tour.

El Templete is on the harbour front just behind the Santa Isabella hotel [qv] in Old Havana. We went on a Sunday evening so it was quite and really didn't need to book. You will need to in the high season. We ate paella with a mixed ceviche starter, the Chilean Chardonnay was tasty and well priced. The ceviche included... More

This restaurant was our first to experience as a group of fourteen. ...went on a Sunday around 7ish; we were the only ones present except for one or two couples who were at different ends of the restaurant. ...had a pleasant and comfortable experience as the wind blew from the ocean. The food was tasty; the lobster here was better... More

We stumbled across this place after walking along the Malecon - earlier in the day we'd said it'd be nice to have some seafood and when we got hungry we were walking past and literally just noticed a sign outside saying "seafood". What a great find! Great service from friendly waiting staff, delicious fresh fish (we had tuna and shrimp)... More

El Templete is a State owned restaurant. Both the food and service were very nice. We were booked there as a part of our tour so the choices were limited to steak or fish. I had the steak which was good and well cooked to my taste. My wife had the fish which was very nice as was the dessert.... More

Although state-owned restaurants are not often the best options, this is a good one. Food and service were good, but it is slightly expensive, considering its quality.

El Template is located in by the port just a few steps from Plaza das Armas in Havana. I went with 6 friends and we ordered 3 rice dishes: paella, arroz caldoso and black rice. The three were all delicious. The first two are big enough from 3 people, the black rice not that much. The service is a little... More

I ate at this restaurant last year in Havana and we are expected to eat there again this year when I return. The staff is very pleasant, the food is quite good and the atmosphere when you first arrive in Havana is wonderful by the water and the street.

Throughout the last ten years I have visited El Templete many times. Ususally, the quality of the food served is quite good - sometimes very good. Meat and Seafood, both are recommendable. The Wine-List is acceptable. Unfortunately - as in most Restaurants and Paladares in La Habana - Prices have reached an unacceptable high level now. And, to make it... More
