Amazing seafood

El Templete is a State owned restaurant. Both the food and service were very nice. We were booked there as a part of our tour so the choices were limited to steak or fish. I had the steak which was good and well cooked to my taste. My wife had the fish which was very nice as was the dessert.... More

Although state-owned restaurants are not often the best options, this is a good one. Food and service were good, but it is slightly expensive, considering its quality.

El Template is located in by the port just a few steps from Plaza das Armas in Havana. I went with 6 friends and we ordered 3 rice dishes: paella, arroz caldoso and black rice. The three were all delicious. The first two are big enough from 3 people, the black rice not that much. The service is a little... More

I ate at this restaurant last year in Havana and we are expected to eat there again this year when I return. The staff is very pleasant, the food is quite good and the atmosphere when you first arrive in Havana is wonderful by the water and the street.

Throughout the last ten years I have visited El Templete many times. Ususally, the quality of the food served is quite good - sometimes very good. Meat and Seafood, both are recommendable. The Wine-List is acceptable. Unfortunately - as in most Restaurants and Paladares in La Habana - Prices have reached an unacceptable high level now. And, to make it... More

As you don't have much of a choice of private dining in Havana, we decided one night to have dinner in this place. Staff was quite attentive and friendly. However, the food was tasteless.

We enjoyed an excellent lunch here during a tour of Havana. It was a part of a package so was table d'hote but that didn't detract from the quality and choice. there was a delicious soup accompanied by fresh bread together with other starters, some fish based others with meat. The main dish was a choice of fish or chicken,... More

This restaurant accommodated us at very short notice when our plans changed. We had a very nice fish orientated dinner with a bottle of Spanish Rueda. They were out of my first choice - monkfish (rape), The 'en papillote' option was very tasty. My girlfriend had octopus and snapper. Nice!
