ONE OF THE BETTER GOVERNMENT OWNED RESTAURANTS!

We usually only eat in paladares in Cuba, but we made an exception for El Templete and actually ate there twice! The menu is varied and includes traditional cuisine with an international flair. The seafood paella was a delight and we were excited to find humus on the menu. The wait staff is... read more

It's expensive but good! I've never been deceived at this location. Great location and great service. Make sure to bring enough cash. Credit card system doesn't work to good over there. (Well, that's what they say 50% of the time!)

Went there as part of an organized trip. Our food was definitely mediocre - the local guide seated at the table with me frowned and the bus driver refused to even taste some of the mystery dumplings. A trip to the inside revealed that other diners had much better looking plates. They were individual travelers. A little research revealed that... More

Dear Customer: For us your opinion is a surprise because the groups we receive here in the restaurant always leave their opinions in book customers, and we are not aware of any in the last month. Also the driver and the guide always give us feedback after group interview. We appreciate your opinion because it is always good to know... More

We came here as it was recommended for great food, but it was OK comparing with other paladares. Service lack attention to detail and brought food late or dishes at the same time for different courses. Musicians line up outside and they are really good to make it special, but they cannot come in.

Behind the Plaza de Armas, on the sea, there is El templete, exceptional restaurant, full of seafood's dishes that will astonish your palate. If you'll be lucky to go In this restaurant you will have to try the octopus, the grilled peppers stuffed with cod and covered with squid ink and seafood paella cooked in squid ink. One of the... Had lunch with friends. Grilled lobster outstanding and wait staff fun. Had Angulas for appetizer and that was a treat, had not had them since Spain.

I had a nice experience at this restaurant, just near old Havana. The menu is not as broad as in other places but food was very good. The prices are definitely higher than the standard for Cuba but still reasonable.

El Templete is old standard government run restaurant in Havana. Sadly, as much as I wanted to like it, they failed to deliver. The location is fantastic - great view right on the Malecon. Our server was attentive by Cuban standards and bar was very nice. So what's the problem? In a word, the food. My "fresh catch" tasted anything... More

A rather large Paladar on a rooftop. At 21.00 the cannon sets off and everyone wants to experience it. El Templete is the best place we've discovered in havana. It is not cheap (and definitely not for Cubans) but well worth it. Nice staff, good service
