Family style, fixed menu. Excellent

The name "La Bodeguita del Medio" means "Restaurant in the middle". It seems that most restaurants (at least in Havana) are on the corner where two streets meet. You will likely encounter a long line out the front; don't be discouraged. Push your way up the narrow, winding stairs, there are several more rooms above the main floor. Add your writing to what's already on every wall in the place, squeeze into a dining room, and order some of the best (casual) food and drink in Havana. The... More

La Bodequita is a centrally located restaurant that is very popular with tourists. The walls are covered with grafiti and you are free to leave your mark should be able to find any empty space to write on. The food is good (though not particularly special) but the restaurant is worth a visit for its uniue but crowded ambience and... More

Great old fashioned bar over 3 floors. The mohitos are lovely but it is very busy and often crowded. A must visit when in Havana.

Food is good but the Mojitos are fantastico! So is the bar atmosphere. They hava a house band and sell Cohiba cigars - how can you not enjoy this place? And you can drink / smoke outside on the street.

Passing this place several times the bar area was always absolutely packed. We went once to the restaurant at the back and ordered a couple of snacks which were inedible. Drinks were OK but expensive. Whatever Hemingway saw its now an out and out tourist trap.

Again, I rate this as an "excellent" (like I did for El Floridita) only because I love Hemmingway and this is where he came for his mojitos (he went to La Floridita for daiquiris). So, it's for history that I came here not for actual service or quality. In reality, the mojito was fine but I had just as good... More

Always packed with tourists but still there is something that makes this a place worth visiting! We had the shrimps (camarones al ajillo) with rice and black beans (moros y christianos) as main course and they were delicious. We actually returned here another time to have the same lunch! Mojitos were ok as well.

If you don't buy a drink here they won't let you sign their wall. They claim to be the birthplace of the Mojito but they aren't.
