Best but expensive daiquiri

The daiquiri was the best I ever had. But it was quite expensive. This is the type of place where you go just for one drink, to feel the atmosphere and take picture with Hemingway :) There is always a lot of people so finding place to seat if almost impossible for group of people. It is the place... read more

The drinks are really the best in the city and worth the price. It must have been a classy and stylish place once, but now its just a crowded tourist attraction, although you can still feel the spirit of the old days.

El Floridita is one of three establishments linked to Hemingway in Old Havana (the other two being the Bodeguita del Medio and the Hotel Ambos Mundos). It is divided into two areas - the bar at the front with the statue of Hemingway, a lovely wooden bar counter, and a small space by the entrance for a band to play.... More

A place to visit and to have a drink, it's good for a break while you are walking to see the city. The place is full of people that are coming to try different coctails.

It is an established place going back to Hemingway. He stayed at the hotel Ambos Mundos just a few blocks away along Obispo. Story is that he chose that hotel since if he drank too much he could walk along Obispo and not get lost. Supposedly the daiquiri was "invented here" but who knows. This is a small place and... We came here with my husband as our last stop of our private Havana tour before leaving to go back to Varadero. The bar was packed and we just managed to get a table. The daiquiris were good, but the neatest part was drinking them in one of Hemingway's hangouts. There is a bronze statue of Hemingway near the back... More

Where Daquiris were invented this is a historic bar in Old Havana. Drinks are $5 and worth it although cheaper in other places close. As smoking is allowed if you are a non-smoker you probably won't last long.

El Floridita is probably one of the most famous drinking establishments in Havana...and it still has some charm in that retro kind of way...A visit to Havana would not be complete without a stop in this famous boite de nuit...but don't expect a delicious cocktail or a seat. It is the home of the daiquiri, but the drinks are a... More

Was there in 2002 for drinks, and it was a fine place. But this time it's clear they have completely given up on the idea of "merit", and are dining out on their Hemingway cache. While the bar is great for drinks and music and smoking cigars, the dining room is a catastrophe. No Maitre D' was nowhere to be... More

Of course you have to drop in here...how could you not? Gotta get a drink and take a pic with the Hemingway statue...how could you not? But stay there? Eat there? No thanks. It was far too crowded and tourists wander in to look around which doesn't make for a very relaxing dining experience I wouldn't think. Still, a worthwhile... More
