Look, this place will never get a Michelin Star, but the food served (lunch on a Bales/Virgin Taste of Cuba Tour) was perfectly acceptable, albeit the lunch took an age to serve. CE is situated five miles east of down to Havana. An old house with small dining areas, the bean starter was tasty. The main of pork, beef and... More

but this place felt like hawaii due to the thatching and open roof. For some reason it just didn't feel like cuba..... just couldn't figure it out. I felt rushed, and there was nothing extraordinary.

This is a pleasant restaurant located in a refurbished old home that offers both good service and good food. There are stained glass windows representing the various regions of the country. The furniture is as one thinks similar to their Spanish heritage. The food is served family style and offered in a slightly different manner than other restaurants in Havana.

Mar 21 Arriving back in Havana, we checked in to the Melia Cohiba in the Velado district. It is the best hotel yet. Just 10" away by car is the imposing Casa Espanola. Seeing the castle-like mansion made me believe the food must be commissurate. Inside, the medieval motif continues with a full-size suit of armor, ornate dark woodwork and... More

Restaurant in an old mansion is a reminder of the grander times of Cuba. Wonderful wood work throughout and the food was amazing. Who would expect lamb done to perfection in Cuba?

This is a once-splendid fantasy home designed with Spanish baronial splendor, so the restaurant includes the lovely garden and a number of rooms furnished with pseudo-antique furnishings - the main room has stained glass windows. Service is attentive, food is well prepared - one of the few places for good lamb, as well as fish and other dishes. We enjoyed... More

Yes, the ambiance of dining in old house made for a wonderful evening for our little group of 31. If there was a downside to the evening, it wasn't the food. It was the ill lit exterior staircase that led several people to use iPhone flashlights and to call out the presence of steps and the high threshold at the... More

We had our wedding cerimony in the garden of this restaurant then went inside for food and champagne. It was magnificent! The food was delicous, well priced and service was great. Our wedding Planner, Marium, from Aire de Fiesta was wonderful and so helpful in setting everything up for us. She arranged the flowers and decorations (which were beautiful) as... More

The building is a great place for a drink and some warm bread and olives. The main meal was not great at all and I think the shrimp was off. Avoid the chicken in garlic butter and shrimp in garlic butter. Go for a beer and some olives and see the beautiful inside of the building.

State owned restaurant in Moorish style "castle". We were with a large group and dinner was served family style with platter of appetizers and lamb and chicken as the main course choices. Food was well prepared, service was excellent and ambience hard to beat.
