We went to this restaurant because it was close to were my daughter was staying. But we ended up coming back every night! The seafood was grilled in an open kitchen. All the food was excellent. The place was clean, they pour stiff drinks, and spoke English. Out the door, the dinners cost us less than USD $20 per person.... More

Good food and service. We were very happy to find this place considering the lack of options for decent food in Habana. I can safely say that El Idilio exceeds by far the overall expectations for a good restaurant in Cuba. I hope they keep up the good work.

Wow! The food here is one of the best in Cuba, the chef are clearly proud of the food they cook and like their job. The best Ropa Vieja y Pulpo al Ajillo that I had during a month in Cuba. Service is fantastic and everyone speaks English. Around £10 per person including drinks.

We ate there twice and it was delicious. Try the malanga puree and the fried banana! The fish file was also great. One of the best places in Havana and it's not expensive.

Stuffed avocado with the star of the Cuban flag cut out of it...and filled with prawns...followed with lobster...lamb in red wine...a queue forms quickly after 8pm so either book or come earlier..an open kitchen which is fascinating to watch. Wonderful serving staff. Great specials as well as the menu options. Can't be beaten.

We went the first time because it was so close to where we were staying. But we loved the food and the great service so we returned for our last meal in Havana before our flight, a very late lunch or a very early dinner? They specialize in grilled meat/fish on skewers. I ate their Ropa Vieja and it was... More

We were staying our first and last 2 nights in Havana on our 2nd trip to Cuba. This time instead of staying in a regular hotel we decided to stay with a family in a "Casa Particulares" Our Host recommended El Idilio as a Local Paladar within walking distance. The Paladar's are Privately owned restaurants usually part of a private... More

Really enjoyed El Idilio for a very late lunch. We enjoyed the tuna stuffed banana appetizer very much. The shrimp and steak were excellent. The flan for dessert was fantastic. Service was as good as I've seen in Cuba. No problem recommending this spot to anyone. A bit off the normal tourist path but by no means a hassle to... More

El idilio was just next corner to our casa and the wonderful smell and taste of the open barbecue made us come back several times. Food is delicious, service is nice and prices are fair, great atmosphere. We had to make a reservation for the evening, the restaurant was always fully booked. We recommend it also for lunch, it is... More

The food was sooooo tasty! An absolute Must Try if you're in Havana. Two thumbs up. The meat was extremely tender. It was one of the best meals I had during my stay in Cuba.
