My top choice for meals in Havana

Although it's not very close to the classic touristic spots, I'd recommend this restaurant when you're in Havana. Nice atmosphere, great food for a fair price. Don't miss the desserts.

This place is located on a side street that will look a bit frightening to most Americans but once you enter it is quite lovely and the food doesn't disappoint. I still have dreams about their bread as it is the tastiest found anywhere. The service was great. I really can't say enough about this gem. Worth finding!

Been a fan of this place ever since it opened in February 2012 and made a point of visiting at least once a year. This time around unfortunately, I can't give full marks. I don't know if the owner was out of town but he wasn't around and the level of service was certainly not what I've been used to.... More

Casa Miglis is in Centro Havana, and the contrast between what is going on inside the establishment and outside the windows is palpable. As we sat dining on gazpacho and ceviche (not great, by the way), kids would pass by asking for a "moneda." You can't help but feel a bit of first-world privilege when you eat here, unfortunately. Still,... More

Four of us went on our own with a reservation but no prearranged menu as happens when the tour operator arranges and prepays. The wine list was a joke, as the restaurant had only one wine, period. The menu options seemed ok until we tried to order. Out of this, out of that. Service was bad and there were not... More

We had a great meal here. Excellent mojitos. Meal and drinks for two were about 38 CUC. The restaurant is amazing and service is excellent. There was a guy on the pavement directing you where to enter. You have to get over the Central Havana environment and go here.

I dine there the 6th of March 2015. The server (mesero) received me en telling that the restaurant is full. He offered me a stool close to the entrance, a place to put a drink, standing. I asked to have a look to the restaurant and I saw many tables unoccupied. I asked for one with 2 places and finally... More

By far the best dinner I had during my stay in Havana. The bartender was very talented, I don't think I've had that good drinks anywhere before.

Our group was escorted by our wonderful Earthbound Expeditions guides or we may never have found this Cuban/Swedish restaurant and bar. The interior of the former home is interesting, with tin ceilings and interesting art work. The amount of food wasn't an overwhelming amount, which was good; we enjoyed our fish, wine and dessert very much. The staff treated us... More

This was one of the best places I've ever been. We were so fortunate to be staying around the corner as I basically turned this place into my local throughout my trip. The food was fresh, well-made and flavourful. Probably one of the best lobsters and beef filets I've ever had. Even the sides were fresh and plentiful. The cocktails... More
