A memorable night in Havana

We were on a SmarTours tour of Cuba and had an individual dinner night to ourselves. The Melia Cohiba Hotel provide a list of local paladars close to the hotel. We chose the Atelier because it was within walking distance of the hotel. Food and service were excellent. We ordered an... read more

This restaurant was created in a Vedado old mansion and offers top cuisine and service. Our lobster in garlic sauce was out of this world.

Me and my wife went to this paladar and left with different views about the food. While I had the lamb with a great chocolate sauce (5 of 5 stars for me) she had the fillet mignon that was not so great. Do not get me wrong, there was nothing with the cooking aspect, but it was less than the... More

Totally recommend this Paladar in Havana. Food was amazingly delicious. The waiter was outstanding... I wish he could teach other waiters in Havana about service. Several seafood dishes as well as the famous Cuban

Really liked this tucked away Paladar (home based restaurant). The place was busy on a Friday night and we were fortunate to get a table on the rooftop which was lovely. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The food choices were varied and the food was very tasty. Really enjoyed the experience.

I have been to Atelier countless times to eat despite the fact that the food is not that memorable or even that good. I must be a glutton for punishment. I think the main reason I go back is because the space is beautiful-- the house is gorgeous and the two outdoor seating areas are quite nice. However, the food... More

I love the ambiance of this private restaurant is walking distance from the Melia Cohiba hotel. One can sit either outside on a small terrace or inside the larger, yet cozy dining room. The food is artistic and delicious -- we tried the duck confit, lobster grilled with garlic olive oil (generous and rich), grilled octopus, tuna stuffed in red... More

A group of 10 of us ate on the roof deck just after sunset. The soft ocean's breeze caressed us as we enjoyed a delicious meal. We were treated to a visit by the chef, herself, and we're invited to look into the small, but efficient, kitchen. The food was excellent and far more than we could all eat. As... More

My partner and I tried Atelier one night without a reservation but were turned away. (Note: ALWAYS make a reservation at the well-known places). We called two nights later, however, and managed to reserve a table for 10. The service was decent and so was the food. One of my colleagues mentioned that her entrée was the best she'd had... More

The setting, a rooftop with the setting sun, then dining under the stars was a perfect ending to our trip. Our entire group (Pan Am Historical Foundation) had a fabulous ending to a magical trip. The food was very good, the service was speedy and friendly. This could be a romantic setting for a couple, a great place for friends... More
