Description: Brand new restaurant , opened in February 2011. We were one of it's first customers. A 'Palador 'style restaurant located in a penthouse apartment of an of classic 1950's building; with magnificent views over the city and of the ocean. interior decor is modern1950's cool, creative, and artfully appointed. the food was excellent!!! One could could compare easily to a fine restaurant in Paris, NY or London. staff are young and attentive and gave great service.

We were worried, after looking at the menu, prices and setting, that this was going to be one of those places tourists come to eat overpriced and average food in a picturesque setting. We were wrong! Great food that someone has clearly put a LOT of thought into - many many elements to each dish. Perhaps a little fussier than... More

Excellent food and service, not cheap for Cuba but still very reasonable. There is a lift and the toilet is clean with soap & loo paper!

Took the Havana Tours full day tour of Havana yesterday. Included in the cost was lunch at Cafe Laurent. We jumped into two of the little yellow bubble shaped taxi trikes in front of Plaza San Francisco which took us along the Malecon to get there. Our guide explained that until recently all the restaurants in Cuba were government owned... More

This restaurant is located on the roof top - excellent views of Havana - it is also very near Hotel Nacional where the Cabaret Parisien takes place. Good place to eat before going to watch the Cabaret!! Excellent food including Vegetarian food - the chef went out of his way to make us a 'on the house' vegetarian dish -... More

We were so impressed, we went back again! Generous portions, beautifully cooked food, great flavours and a really nice atmosphere. The first time, we watched the sun setting over Hotel Nacional/the Malecon with a daiquiri before tucking into a lamb in red wine sauce / beef with garlic. The beef was so tender and the garlic oil was so tasty,... More

Good location. Great food. Friendly staff. A bit pricey compared to other restaurants in Havana but worth every penny.

What a little gem! The guide book recommended it and at first we could not find it as it is on the 5th floor of a block of flats, with no sign advertising it on the street. It is only 5 minutes away from the hotel Nacional (as you leave the hotel go straight on, turn right at the 3rd... More

Located just off the malacon, this is worth a visit if you are looking for a decent alternative to state restaurants. Fish is fresh and tasty. It's top floor level, with a decent breeze throughout. Was very busy when we went so we sat on the high stools outside and ate here from the bar type ledge.

As cuba experiments with the private sector and a new upper class begins to grow, I suspect restaurants like this will pop up more frequently. At the moment, however, this is one of a kind. A beautiful restaurant, top notch food, great drinks, and good service. This is not the "Cuban" experience by any means, given the price tag, but... More

having been told dreadful things about the mediocre food in Cuba we were delighted to eat at this, and several other paladares. Cafe Laurent has a lovely view, the staff are delightful and the food is of a good standard. We enjoyed a lovely evening there.
