Description: Brand new restaurant , opened in February 2011. We were one of it's first customers. A 'Palador 'style restaurant located in a penthouse apartment of an of classic 1950's building; with magnificent views over the city and of the ocean. interior decor is modern1950's cool, creative, and artfully appointed. the food was excellent!!! One could could compare easily to a fine restaurant in Paris, NY or London. staff are young and attentive and gave great service.

Recently visited with large party. Food was excellent. Service was great for Cuba. Lovely location with views of the Malecon and ocean. Will definitely go back!

Absolutely delightful. If you're in Havana do yourself a favour and go here!! Its 2 small blocks away from Hotel Nacional, we went for Sunday lunch. Had lobster and shrimp skewer which was huge, and delicious! Its on the top floor of an apartment building but is a restaurant in its own right not someone's house. We loved it and... More

On the 5th floor of a drab apartment block. Great atmosphere and food. Lovely touches. Great value. Imaginative menu and good attention to detail.

We stayed at the nearby Hotel Nacional which is one of the most famous hotels in Havana. We initially tried two of the hotel restaurants but the food was very poor. We then researched local restaurants and found this one - less than 5 minutes from the Nacional but not clearly advertised at ground level. The restaurant is on the... More

We thought the food here was delicious. The place is lovely and would be perfect for a romantic couple (we had our children with us though!) Pricier than the other restaurants we went to in Cuba, but still reasonable compared to European prices. We only had the less expensive main courses and water to drink and it worked out about... This restaurant is based in block of flats which wasn't a problem as there was someone at the gates to tell us where to go once we got there. This place has beautiful views over the city, fantastic staff (massive brownie points for singing happy birthday with me to my friend) and delicious food-both my friend and I had fish... More

We were both aiming for and stumbled upon Cafe Laurent in a lovely 50s apartment building in Vedado. The restaurant is beatifully decorated and the staff exceptionally trained while our food and wine was by far the best meal we had in Havana - house croquettes with fresh bread and oils, chateau briand with fries and 3 different sauces, chocolate... While in Havana on a music tour, our small group found we had an evening for ourselves, and this paladare was suggested. When we got out of the cab, a man with a menu walked us up a small sidewalk and opened what looked like a closet door to reveal an tiny elevator. He asked us to step in, closed... More

We first visited Cafe Laurent a couple of years back so on our return to Havana we had to come back as we had such a good meal the first time. To keep it short, we had a lovely meal with friends, sat out on the balcony with amazing views of the real Havana. The service was fine, the food... More

The location of this Paladar is great and it looks very chic and cosy. Staff is friendly, but very focussed on doing everything as fast as possible. We had no reservation, but they had a 2-hour tabel for us, great. With the speed with which our starters and mains were served, we could have left within half an hour, not... More
