I went for lunch and is upstairs of a house, you have to take an elevator to go to the restaurant which is in a terrace looking at the neighborhood. Of the Vedado, is safe towalk, I went by myself and have a great lunch and excellent cuban coffee.l

We ate lunch here and were really impressed with the quality of the food. The restaurant was hard to find as it's completely unmarked and in a house on a nondescript street - we would've missed it except for the fact that someone was on the street handing out advertising for it, so they were able to show us to... Having so many great reviews about this restaurant me and my wife decided to have dinner one night. They have a old elevator all decorated (if you do not like small spaces take the stairs), and it is a all remodeled apartment. About the service, everything went fine, people were polite and helpful. The main thing is that the food... More

After reading the reviews and being a stone throw away from Hotel Nacional, we decided to give Cafe Laurent a go. Harder to find the actual entrance than one might've expected, given that the two kids supposed to be at the house entrance calling people in were comfortably chatting inside the place (and yes, it looks like a proper living... On our recent people-to-people tour of Cuba our tour guide arranged for 24 of us to dine at this lovely restaurant/paladar on top of a 1950s apartment building. As other travelers have indicated the views of Havana were wonderful from the rooftop, and the terrace had a cool breeze - even in May. Located just blocks from Hotel Nacionale in... More

Delicious food, thoughtful service and a great cool breezy spot to watch life go by in the streets below. We had lobster with boniato and poached egg, vegetable tempura with delicate peanut sauce, and fried plantain with ham and pineapple dressing. All flavours subtly balanced. This was a real treat for our last night in the city. It was a... More

The restaurant has beautiful views out to sea across the town. We were given a seat outside, which was lovely as there was a nice breeze and some fans (which seemed to be a rarety elsewhere!). We all enjoyed the food, both starters and mains. We did not stay for a dessert, as having asked for the drinks menu twice,... More

1950's lift up to the restaurant terrace where superb food and drinks served in a lovely atmosphere, you need to book for the outside terrace. We ate at the bar overlooking the malecon.

Found this gem as a recommendation in a [not so normal guide] books, one of many which said don't rely on the food in Cuba. (proved that wrong, as did many!) This place had a nice rooftop view, good service and great food. We had the lobster/prawn dish and the fish/clams - both were great. Finished off with rum of... More
