We had dinner here after having drinks outside at Hotel Nacional. The experience was really wonderful. The building is beautiful in a distressed way and the staircase along is worth a trip. You then enter the restaurant on the top floor and are greeted by professional and friendly people. Our dinner was really wonderful...not too rushed....nicely prepared and presented and... More

We ate at this La Guarida after researching it on the internet prior to our visit to Havana in August. It did not disappoint. The building looks quite dilapidated and the stairs are very windy but trust me when say it was worth the climb. The food was of a very high quality, tasty and the service was great. When... More

Paladar La Guarida is placed on the 3rd floor of a beautiful old charming building in Centro, Havana The restaurant itself offers a very atmospheric decor and feeling -- every room was exceptional, incl. the bathroom. We were politely welcomed and placed at an amazing balcony table overlooking the road --- really lovely setting The dishes are gourmet and although... More

I will admit that I was a bit sceptical of this place, but it was a fantastic dinner experience. The pictures of the building don't do it justice. To get to the restaurant, you must walk up a grand old staircase and through a huge empty house, but once inside it is a very quaint and charming place. The food... More

Agree with Anja... not just overrated, it is highly overrated! You pay too much for just too little.

The building and the way up to the restaurant on the third floor is very impressive, in a beautiful old building in a residential area. On arrival (upstairs) and announcing we had a reservation the greeting from the member of staff (male) was quite offish and a bit rude. We both thought, oh! When we were seated by a very... More

Way to expensive. Because of the name and its "history" you pay way to much for not that special food. I do not recommend La Guarida

I love to eat a tasty meal. Travelling Cuba for a month I found that it was difficult to find delicate food. This place has it all; the food is amazing, the surroundings cozy and the staff very attentive. It is though quite expensive compared to cuban standard.

Dined here a deaux, we both enjoyed dinner. Had 3 courses, fish was excellent as was the dessert. Beautiful building and excellent service. By Cuban standards this is a 5 star paladar.

I had read about the restaurant in a travel magazine and I am definitely happy I remembered the name and made the reservation. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere in the historic walls and streets of Havanna is unique. A must in Havanna!
