Said to be one of Havana's best. We had an excellent 3 course meal with drink (eg Mojito) for 35 CUC. On top floor of palace once owned by wealthy family. Impressive architecture.

It will be your most expensive restaurant in Havana but the experience was unique. The restaurant is located in one of the poorest area of La Havana but it is itself in a old beautiful mansion. It's quite disturbing to see all the great cars parked near the restaurant but once you are inside; you understand why. Food and cocktails... More

The food is excellent. The presentation is as well. I had the tasting menu which allowed me to try many things. The service was a little iffy. But I had time to kill and wanted to relax so I did not care. To get there you must walk up several flights of stairs of which the handrails are not necessarily... More

I still dont get why this place is so well rated all over marketing material. It is in a very bad area, if younare not lucky tomget a front room table, you will eat on a dark room like we did, the food... I dont even remember, it was below average and forgetable. OK, yes... It is Cuba. You are... More

If advise to book this restaurant as early as you can to avoid disappointment it's that good. Upon our booking we received a quick reply confirming our booking. My advice is to get a taxi here as it's a bit out of the way and hard to find. On arrival we did wonder if we had the right place as... More

We had a lovely lunch here, service is exceptional, the ingredients are unusually combined and all dishes we had were really tasty (and full of flavour) and well presented. Beautiful building that once was a location for a famous Cuban movie Fresa y Chocolate. Perfect for special occasion while in Havana.

From beginning to end La Guarida offers a piece of Cuban history. Housed in a beautiful original Old Habana building, the walls are covered with images of pre-revolutionary Cuba in all of its grandeur. Most notably, a scene from "Fresa y Chocolate", a landmark Cuban film, was filmed in a dining room of La Guarida. The staff will gladly point... More

We had dinner here our first evening in Havana and we loved it! The restaurant is located several flights up in a totally decrepit old building and the climb up the stairs is totally worth it. The service, ambiance and food were all excellent with one small exception -- the chocolate dessert tres leches was only average. Otherwise we were... More

The walk up the stairs to the restaurant is great and you get to see how the building is still lived in and where its changing. The restaurant has been around years and years and you can tell with the service and presentation compared to a lot of the newer places that are starting to open up in Cuba. Food... More
