What a superb restaurant, remember to book ahead as this is a very popular place to visit, and sometimes, coach parties take up a substantial number of tables. We booked via email, which worked really well. Don't get put off by the entrance. The restaurant is in a building that would have been condemned in most countries, but walking through... More

We had booked in advance. I suspect it's essential. Amazing old semi-derelict building with a grand sweeping marble staircase. Not obviously a restaurant and you need to go right to the top. It's dark and dingy on the way up. The restaurant seems to occupy the whole of the top floor. Very busy. My wife's food was good (can't recall... More

Tragically suffering from very positive reviews by, well everyone, this treasure chest is full of the smart crowd and knows it. That does not take away from its stunning rehabilitation in the middle of struggle town. Seeing the lady hanging up her washing next to the marble stairs on the floor below as we walked up had a fairly surrealistic... More

The building is incredible, event at night: massive doors, large foyer, sweeping stair cases, first floor terrace with colonnades and statues... and it all is crumbling, dark, falling apart. It's simply amazing. The paladar rooms are nothing special and a let down after such a beautiful 'intro'. We sat in the room near the kitchen, which was full of people... More

You will be astonished when you arrive at this place. You will wonder where on earth you are getting to. What looks like a derelict building becomes a secret hidden gem. As you go up to the second floor, you discover a wonderful surprise. A series of delapidated rooms with high ceilings evoquing a bygone era. If you happen to... More

La Guarida was one of our favorite restaurants while in Cuba. The intriguing location and decor make this a standout worthy of a visit for the ambience alone. We dined at lunch and suspect this place becomes even more magical in the evening. The wine list was the most developed of any restaurant we ate at in Havana. Great options... More

We were lucky enough to get a table for a late lunch, when we arrived at the address, we first thought that the driver had made a mistake. The location and surrounding is kind of depressing and the building looks like in desperate need of restauration. The restaurant is in the upper floor of a multi family building, you pass... More

We made a last minute reservation here and it was one of our best experiences of our time in Havana. This place oozes ambiance. The service was fabulous and the food was delicious. The fresa y chocolate dessert is something that I am still dreaming about. Great value and I can't wait to go back on my next visit to... More

Delightful. Delicious. Beautiful presentation. As my husband says, "Cuba is one surprise after another" and for me this topped the list! We entered another dilapidated Havana building, dark, run down, occupied with apartments. Walked up 2-3 stories on an open, comfortable, stone staircase and entered another world. Fantastic food, wonderful art adorning the walls, white tablecloths, spectacular service, & my... More
