This restaurant is amazing. I highly recommend booking in the UK pre departure via the website. The atmosphere and food were both superb.

Certainly the best Restaurant in the whole of Cuba. A must eat at restaurant when visiting Havana. Booking essential as everyone in the know goes there. If this restaurant were in London, Paris, new York etc it would certainly have at least one Michelin Star, perhaps two or three. Fantastic value for money for the quality of the food although... We booked up for this months in advance - and weren't disappointed - Good menus (expensive wines), very attentive staff and tasty meal. It's a bit weird to climb up from a very unprepossessing ground floor to the rooftop bar and high level restaurant, but it is in a reconstructed building in Havana, and full of atmosphere.

When you arrive you probably think you are in the wrong place until you see the sign outside. When you start climbing the stairs, you may start wondering again. But when you get there, rest assure, the food is delicious. Here several days after my husband still might talk about how delicious the tacos were. The atmosphere and food is... More

I was scared on the street (New Yorker in me), scared trying to find the restaurant in the house and then had an amazing evening. This is someone else's review but it's perfect...... La Guarida is on a dilapidated street, in a dilapidated looking building. However as soon as you step into the place you are charmed by the crumbling... More

La Guarida is on a dilapidated street, in a dilapidated looking building. However as soon as you step into the place you are charmed by the crumbling elegance of the huge staircase. Once you climb it to the first floor you are really intrigued as you pass washing lines and children who live in the apartments playing. The restaurant is... More

The place represents exactly the Cuban way of life. In the same building there are people living in shacks with their clothes exposed and the fancy restaurant. We arrived late on a Friday and we (me and my mom) didn't have a reservation. Fortunately, the hostess kindly found a table close to the kitchen. The service was great and the... More

We went to La Guarida for lunch, with high expectations that were not quite met. It's obvious that the movie Fresa y Chocolate have made it famous...but much better restaurants are available in Havana

Was looking forward to dining here as we'd heard that a number of famous people had been here so assumed it must be good - we weren't disappointed! The setting is like nothing I'd seen before, you go up two flights of what must have been at one time a grand staircase with beautiful rooms (but now virtually bricks and... More
