I visited this place 2 times. Looks are great and servers know their job well. Both times however the food was not up to high standards. Served at below proper temperatures and one time the fish had a bad smell. If things are good this is the place. If bad, it can be very disappointing. One rules always goes......Serve your... More

The cafe del oriente won't break the bank but there are far cheaper and better options in Havana. Their non-Cuban food is tasty although at times the dressing/plating of the food was slightly odd. If you don't mind spending a bit more and you are missing western food then this should be a good option for you.

Good professional staff. Good standard restaurant upstairs or down. A group of us had lobster, red snapper or chicken, all of which were a high standard. Cocktails good and reasonably priced. Live jazz-ish / easy-listening band.

Let's not waist a essay on this place, but here are some bullit pointts: A cleaner washed the floor not 1 foot from away from us during dinner, twice. We asked four times (40min) for coffee. The apetizer and dinner was below ok. But the price was incredible. Incredibly expensive. Do not visit this place!

This was our last lunch in Havana and they did not disappoint. The trio played Cuban jazz and I loved it so much, I bought a CD. The lunch was delicious - great chicken and vegetables. Enjoyed the opportunity to sit and look at the beautiful dining area. Beautiful setting, friendly and responsive staff who were very friendly. Loved it.

The Cafe del Oriente is situated in a lovely square and the first floor looks quite elegant. Like others have said, the upstairs can only be called "tourist hell" and the food is marginal. I was here with a small group one night. All the other nights we dined at private paladars. There are so many fabulous paladars in Havana,... More

The place looks great from the outside, especially at night. First floor dining room looked nice. However, our group of eight was seated upstairs in the tourist-group-from-hell room. Very noisy with a band. Food was the worst of our entire trip. Avoid!
