Cafe de Paris: ambience, fantastic music, marvellous mojitos

There are a lot of places in Habana Vieja to hang out, drink a mojito or coffee, listen to great music, watch the world go by, but after all these years, for me the Cafe de Paris continues to win hands down. Its not the food, not always the service; its the music and the mojitos. The very Cuban... read more

Many Havana bars live off the glory of the city rather than the excellence of what they themselves offer. As a result average drinks, below average food and insincere bands abound. At Cafe de Paris it is all different. The band is younger, livelier, more versatile: they can play the Cuban favourites but with a true jazzy panache, rather than... More

This cafe was superb. Brilliant music. I chose this cafe as I'm a saxophonist & they played chiken & watermelon man, and many others. The food wasn't bad, fish black beans & rice. I would recommend this cafe. I would recommend buying their cd.

The food was decent but when the bill came, the bartender who added our bill on a calculator provided us with a bill 9CUC more than what it should have been. We were able to catch the error, but I can only imagine tourists unknowingly paying for a bill that isn't correct. I'm sure this "error" happens all the time.

It was great to find this place in Havana. Live music great and fast attention for the clients. I eat Pizza Lobster and it was great I had Piña colada as well, but if you don't like cinnamon tell them not to put it. Great value 7 cuc for the pizza , when you go there you see all the... More

This bar is a fun place for mojitos and Cuban music. However it is not the place for a meal. We had a pizza and salad, well just pizza because they forgot to bring the salad. It is very popular and busy so a missed order appears to be common. We noted another couple being frustrated with their food order,... More

We had had something to eat so it was just a stop for a cold drink and to give our feet a rest for ten minutes. When I went to pay, inside the atmosphere was fun, they played good music and the drinks were reasonable. Fun place.

I did not eat the food but the coffee was excellent. The pineapple juice was also very fresh and delicious. It's not a party kind of place, just sit there and relax in the sun :)

Made to feel welcome straight away. Tried a mojito and ,my goodness, it was strong but very reasonably priced. Crystal beer and cuba libres good also. Didn't eat but the band was very good. Great atmosphere inside.
