If you eat nowhere else in Havana, please find the Doctor Cafe. We loved it so much we ate there 2 nights. Fantastic barbecue and appetizers. The best we found anywhere in Havana.

We just got back from Habana and I can happily say that with the help of Paladars such as this one we ate like Kings the entire trip. We went here on the advice of our taxi driver as we were staying not far away at the Melia Habana, and I couldn't thank him enough for the recommendation. They don't... More

We had the pleasure of dining here on our first night in the Miramar district of Havana. I was travelling with friends who have eaten here many times and it was highly recommended, for good reason! Service was very welcoming - we started off with a delicious pina colada, and I do mean delicious! As has been mentioned previously, there... More

I've been several times in this restaurant. Allways good service and decent food. Seafood is one of the best. My favorite is the octopus. Good bar selection with premium drinks

I have been at this restaurant at least 20 times. Doctor Café (so-called because it's run by a family of medics) is one of Havana's best places to eat. Located in a quiet suburban street in the embassy district of Miramar, the consistency, value and atmosphere at this unassuming paladar are reflected in its popularity, especially among the expat community... It was excellent. Make reservations but might have to wait a while for food to come out. Just order a bottle of wine and enjoy. It is romantic and also good place to sit with friends and catch up...

When you're sick of the average food and so-so service which is endemic to so very many restaurants in Havana, you must go to Doctor Cafe and be reminded that service can be good, food can be cooked properly, and bread can be served fresh (I'm told it's made in house, and judging by the excellent quality I believe it).... One of the few places in Havana that actually grills its' food on charcoal and not on a hotplate. The problem is that the cook really does not know how to BBQ so many times your medium rare turns into a hard piece of dry meat. A plus is the big option of things that can go on the grill.... More

The Doctor Cafe (the owner is the doctor) is a paladar beside and behind a private house in Playa. There is a covered patio with a BBQ and a separate bar/kitchen/dining room on the north side of the house and a private garden for groups of 12 or so behind the house. The menu varies with availability. The service is... More

I discovered "Doctor Cafe" on my last trip to Havana and will definitely make many return trips. It is a small restaurant with seating for 18 out in the patio area and 12 seats in the air-conditioned main room. The decor is very inviting but the food is the highlight of the place. Myself and my friend enjoyed an outstanding... More
