Well you can't have everything. The bar looks nice and there was a decent cuban band playing when we visited on Sunday afternoon. But the food was the worst we had in Cuba (and that is saying something). The burger was utterly inedible, avoid!!!! Beer taste watered down, and the price at the end was 17 CUcs which was 5... Although this seems to be a popular place, the music was so loud we had to shout at the server who took our orders. I ordered only Buccanero beer and it took a long time to get my order. The food order was confused and we were brought the wrong food. Not a place I would go back to with... More

The music is great, the atmosphere ok, but everything is spoiled because of the prices they charge. We should have read other reviews on Tripadvisor before going to Monserrat, because a good number tells you the same story. They give you a phony bill and most probably cash the difference with the actual prices themselves.

We went for one drink late at night when there weren't many places open. We were charged 39 CUC for 4 drinks - when we questioned the bill (we were expecting it to be around 12 CUC!) we were told they accidentally added drinks from another table and it should be 29. Still too high, they then said they made... More

Mojitos at 4.5 CUC... Though those were excellent, it is unacceptable to charge that price on the bill while they should have been at 3 CUC (we noticed that later, on another day). A real shame.

Just of the Central Park area is this gem of a bar. Great selection of beers and spirits with a good selection of cigars at a reasonable price. What this place excels at is the music, sit back relax and take it in, wonderful. This is as close to Cuba as a tourist will normally get and it never lets... More

The bands here are the reason to visit, more than the food and drink. We visited several times for the music and there seemed to be only one waiter on at a time. Two waiters seemed to alternate on different days - the larger bald guy with glasses was efficient and helpful, while the slimmer one with dark hair was... More

I loved the ambiance and the decor. Great bands performing. Lots of locals mixed with the tourists to give it the authentic feel. Right up my alley.

I must admit, I have never eaten here, but I have spent many nights drinking rum, talking and listening to music! I love this spot. It's great to hang out, chat with locals and watch the city go by. It's cheap and friendly. Check it out!

A much overlooked, entertaining drinking hole. This is behind El Floriditas and I am led to believe is considerably cheaper. The drinks are strong and probably served the best daiquiris we had in Cuba. There is table service which is attentive and not bullying for more drinks. The bar is open with a view into the street and up the... More
