Nice place to eat

I was grateful to El Palenque while in Cuba. It had some good sangrias, the cheladas were good too. The food court has a grocery store in the same area. The food was ok, the tostones were nice as was the chicken and the pizza. This is the place to go if you want variety, you can find Cuban food... read more

A site that offers local food but very poor quality, of course the cost is proportional. The only good thing about this site is the new ice cream shop, which certainly is not cheap. If they can avoid eating here would be best.

Leave your high North American expectations at home & order and eat like the locals do!!! This is a PORK place and that is what you should only order with a few of the local sides. Not chicken, not pizza, not seafood & not beef!!! Sit down on the hard wooden chairs, smile at your waitress, start with a double... More

I was here twice in February and I was happy to find it. First of all, for the barbeque and then for the atmosphere. The barbeques meat are made in an interesting and very healthy way, because the coals are about 90 cm under the meat so the steaks (chicken, pork or beef) are fried without any tars. The beverages... I have been visiting El Palenque for over 10 years, This place has had its high's and lows in terms of food quality and service. Unfortunately due to my recent visit I have to say this is by far the worst restaurant I have ever experienced in all of Cuba. The roast pork is dry , absolutely tasteless! Even with... More

The only food court what is working properly is the pizzeria, because dont even try the pork meat, one of the worse quality in Cuba, standart services, not to clean,I personally pass by wiht my wife in a middle of a route to my hometown in Havana , they a little grocery stores inside with decent selection of basics need.

First time in Cuba, I thought "quick, afforable & reliable" ...after my third time back I would ONLY return "IF" I had a time constraint & needed something on the run! It's hardly "clean" their are fly's buzzing like no tomorrow all around the pork and the side dishes and what not, YUK! I am sorry, but that is hardly... More

A large group consisting of Canadians & Cubans arrived for an evening of dinner very reasonably priced with good food delicious desert (the flan and the ice cream). We were served extremely quickly - all 33 of us - and were entertained by a trio singing whatever we requested! The ambiance was great! A great time was had by all.... More

The food here is... normal. Its not amazing, but its not bad. We find this is a great location to get something good, when you don't know what you really want. Pork and pizza to go. Its not the best in Havana, but its good and reliable.
