Mi Like Mi Banana!

I first visited Mi Banana about 9 years ago, drawn in as it were by the promise of Sopa do Dia (soup of the day) which was fish soup. It was most excellent and I became a regular. Fast forward to 2015 and it was time to revisit. Today it is easier to communicate with the staff if Spanish is... read more

We had simple and nice food in a simple and friendly place. I don't know whether the food should be called carribean or South-American. Anyway, it was nice although not light. I can't remember if it was cheap or if we paid an average price (I think a rather average price).

We asked at our hotel about a great local place for fish. And we were not disappointed! Don't let the simple exterior fool you, the place is very clean and the food is outstanding.

This place is not easy to find but well worth it. The food is wonderful and the service was great (even though our server didn't speak English and I don't speak Spanish). The conch and the shrimp are amazing! Make sure that you don't leave without having the Tres Leche for dessert. I would go back for just that.

Reasonable prices, great food, and although the waitress did not speak English, she was super friendly and did everything she could to communicate with and accommodate us.

If you are looking for a place that the locals go for an evening out with friends and great food, look no further. Sure, there are plenty of fancier places on the island, but this is the real deal. A simple, small, family-run restaurant off the beaten path. Lots of great Colombian offerings, but they are known for their conch... More

We've been to Mi Banana at least twice every time we're in Bonaire. Tiny, local and inexpensive. We've tried the steak, chicken, salad, cold beer. All good. But it's the conch we come back for time and again. It's pan-fried, tender and oh so delicious, served with piping hot fries and a cold one, it's seafood heaven. For a delicious,... More

We went out of our way to try this place which is a bit out of town. My wife had snapper creole and I had steak with onion, tomato and egg (I forget the name of the dish). Dishes were $12-$15. My dish was fairly good but both of us thought, that altho meal was OK, it was nothing special.... More

The food was good, interesting atmosphere, the dessert was excellent. Would go back again. Great for family's and groups. No special view, but interesting atmosphere.

Went twice to this place. First time we were welcomed by Carlos who spoke excellent English. Second time, on a Sunday, it was a case of pointing as there was no English spoken (I know this is more my fault that I couldn't make myself understood) so we ended up having the same meal as the first time - one...
