Best meal in Bonaire

If you are looking for a place that the locals go for an evening out with friends and great food, look no further. Sure, there are plenty of fancier places on the island, but this is the real deal. A simple, small, family-run restaurant off the beaten path. Lots of great Colombian offerings, but... read more

We've been to Mi Banana at least twice every time we're in Bonaire. Tiny, local and inexpensive. We've tried the steak, chicken, salad, cold beer. All good. But it's the conch we come back for time and again. It's pan-fried, tender and oh so delicious, served with piping hot fries and a cold one, it's seafood heaven. For a delicious,... More

We went out of our way to try this place which is a bit out of town. My wife had snapper creole and I had steak with onion, tomato and egg (I forget the name of the dish). Dishes were $12-$15. My dish was fairly good but both of us thought, that altho meal was OK, it was nothing special.... More

The food was good, interesting atmosphere, the dessert was excellent. Would go back again. Great for family's and groups. No special view, but interesting atmosphere.

Went twice to this place. First time we were welcomed by Carlos who spoke excellent English. Second time, on a Sunday, it was a case of pointing as there was no English spoken (I know this is more my fault that I couldn't make myself understood) so we ended up having the same meal as the first time - one... This restaurant was also recommended to us by locals and while a little off the beaten track when we got there the customers were mainly Dutch and American. Had to wait for a table but worth it. All meals were good with a local twist but they still had cheese cake! Owner operated, limited English spoken but still to the... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by some fellow divers who spend extended time on the island. Once we got the correct directions to it, we found Mi Banana to be a very reasonable fun experience. Owner operated, the food was plentiful and great for the very reasonable price. Enjoyed it a great deal and will return multiple times next... More

Great meal and service. I had the whole red snapper with the garlic sauce-fantastic! Carlos was a wonderful waiter and speaks fluent English. He really explained how the meals were prepared and really makes you feel welcome and special. To get there, take the road to the north of the big church east about 1/4 mi and the restaurant is... We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was terrific. The chuletas and tres leches are superb. We will definitely go back!

Very attentive service, with not much in the line of English spoken - which is my issue not theirs. Hand waiving and pointing is the universal language the world over and it worked just fine at Mi Banana. We got there just as they opened for the evening at 6pm. There is also a lunch seating from 11-3 as I... More
