This spot is a bit hard to find and we weren't all that impressed when we got there, despite numerous glowing recommendations from the locals. If you don't speak Dutch or Spanish, there is a serious language barrier and it was apparent that our orders only partly got through. We all ordered fish, which arrived very heavily buttered. Side dishes... More

Excellent mom&pop restaurant. Food quality is great and the prices is very reasonable. A small place outside of town about 2KM.

There are lots of places to eat in Bonaire focussed on tourists. There are fewer places that tourists find that focus on serving locals. This is one of them. Don't expect fancy surroundings or fast service. Do expect good home cooked food with simple flavours made from local ingredients. Fish of the day with fried plantains is always a good... More

It doesn't look much. The menus are rough, the tablecloth plastic, and the waitress communicates in Spanish with a smattering of other languages. But the food is great - much better than fancier places. Great snapper, risotto chicken, good sides (Yucca and Plantains), great desert (tres leches), and a pleasant, unpretentious atmosphere.

I ate twice at Mi Banana, once dinner and once lunch. Both times I loved the food. The service is very friendly and quick (for Bonairian standards, which is probably not quick enough for folks from the US, but hey, you go to Bonaire to relax ... ), and inexpensive.

We fell in love with this place: great flavors of Columbian food, impeccable and super fast attentive service. This place is popular with tourists and locals. We came back again for the home-made food and great, humble service.

Simple restaurant with decent menu at reasonable prices. Nothing special but definitely adequate. A bit difficult to find, but ok if you have a vehicle.

We went to this place for a late lunch after reading the reviews... Food was just plain with no taste... 1 hour later my wife start vomiting non stop, 2 hours later my daughter and 3 hours later I did... Stay away from this place and stick with the bananas.. the fruit I mean.

My Wife and I love this smaller restaurant, the food is always amazing and the service is second to none. They have a very relaxing casual atmosphere and you feel more part of the island with its more rustic design.

Our dive group had a great dinner experience eating al fresco at Mi Banana on January 28th. Waiter Carlos has a great personality, and the food and drinks were super. Very authentic Columbian homemade food and great value.
