Description: The restaurant initially began as a wholesale distributor for the island's hotels and restaurants. Cooked takeaway service was added; along with a friendly free beer while you wait. Shortly after that the health inspector demanded we go the whole way or "wholesale only". This was around 1998. Long time friend and fellow musician with the local VSOP Jazz band "Stu Jenkins" became the resident artist (designer) and we named the up coming restaurant "LOBSTER ALIVE and all that Jazz". We felt our way; with many of the usual restaurant mistakes. But it seems now, we have scored quite well with international critics, restaurant guide books; and our many repeat customers.

Lobster Alive is a very casual, fun place right on the beach in Bridgetown. We drove out on a Sunday for lunch and the place was packed. The service was quite slow and we witnessed another couple leaving before their lobster came. Make a reservation and only come if you're not in a hurry!

there were 11 of us that came here for our 25 th Anniv. supper, in Nov. Although they were out of the pickled conch, they made up for it with a wicked meal of Lobster, Lobster, Lobster. They make sure you receive all of the lobster you order, even the spinny's, Most of us ordered the medium, and some a... More

The lobster here is just the best on the island, the best I've ever had!! A complete experience in itself. Food fabulous and service really good, waitresses really experienced with menu and everything explained clearly regarding size and weight of lobsters. The place is so not what you expect and looks like a shack but my god the food and... More

Walking in we were assaulted with such a strong old fish smell that I nearly gagged. We asked to sit near the back opening where there was a breeze. The tables and dishes were all clean, but the rest of the place cannot be considered sanitary. The menu was a little confusing and pricey. We did not get great service... More

Found this restaurant by accident and was so good we had to go again. The food was excellent and the service very good. They have a jazz band playing Sunday lunch and tue & thu evening which was a nice bonus.

Went here for lunch after snorkeling (bathing suits and cover ups) so we were a bit worried about how we would be received. No problem! They were incredibly welcoming. Had fresh lobster and champagne. The food was delicious - incredibly fresh and simple, the way quality seafood should be. It wasn't cheap but we weren't looking for that (after all... More

Fresh lobster- You pick, they catch and prepare it to perfection. Service is fantastic too.The best meal I had on the island. The place is small so do make reservations!

The Jazz band was fantastic and really makes this place unique. Parking was not easy, the restaurant is located directly on the beach, but is nothing fancy at all...kind of like a beach shack, and some chairs and tables that are in the sand and are cheap resin. Lobster is tasty but expensive...be ready to pay $100 US per person... More
