The restaurant initially began as a wholesale distributor for the island's hotels and restaurants. Cooked takeaway service was added; along with a friendly free beer while you wait. Shortly after that the health inspector demanded we go the whole way or "wholesale only". This was around 1998. Long time friend and fellow musician with the local VSOP Jazz band "Stu Jenkins" became the resident artist (designer) and we named the up coming restaurant "LOBSTER ALIVE and all that Jazz". We felt our way; with many of the usual restaurant mistakes. But it seems now, we have scored quite well with international critics, restaurant guide books; and our many repeat customers.

Very worth the visit. Excellent food and service. Very relaxing and a very interesting and friendly 'resident' artist if you want a quick sketch of yourselves.

We had lobster for lunch here one day as it was within walking distance of our hotel, and having spent a lot of time in eastern Canada I wanted to try Caribbean lobster. The lobster was good but our waitress acted like she was doing us a favour serving us. I was not impressed and we did not go back.... More

What a place right on the beach. The best lobster I have ever eaten fresh out of the tank cooked and on the table with chips and salad. A nice bottle of wine great atmosphere and a Jazz band playing in the background. There are tables inside the shack or right on the beach, Can not wait to return.

Live jazz, great food, sand between your toes and a few glasses of wine. What more can you ask for? Children friendly as well.

Near the HILTON, this restaurant is on the beach. You can buy and eat huge lobster but the prices are very expensive. You'll pay $ 75 US per pound !!!

This restaurant was recommended to us by our taxi driver on our way to Bridgetown, and will like to thank him for it. Made reservations for 7pm and were seated accordingly, great little place on the beach with a nice jazz band playing while you enjoy your meal. Unfortunately although I enjoy and love lobster I am now allergic to... More

Got recommended this restaurant by a couple of locals and although you pay what you expect for lobster the food is great. It has an awesome atmosphere with a live jazz band and we also had the fortune of having a singer come and sing ad hoc. Was a great night right on the beach.

The fresh lobster was delicious, but given the excellent reviews I would say the prices for the meals were quite expensive especially given that the lobster was served with some fries and salad. Nice place for a low key meal by the beach and great on Saturday night with live jazz, just don't expect the meals to be overly fancy.

Lovely place to have dinner, not very impressive when you arrive but we sat on the sand and enjoyed good service with probably the best lobster I have ever had, The atmosphere is relaxed and the whole experience memorable. It was very busy when we went, but they seem to be able to rustle up additional tables and put them... More
