If you are looking for a place to eat local stuff, you can't go wrong with Brown Sugar. Decent atmosphere, pretty good food, nice people. Nothing special or super unique. Just a pretty good local meal.

The buffet was excellent and featured all kinds of Barbadian local foods. The Flying Fish is to die for!!. A real highlight was the entertainment which featured Willy Kerr the lead guitarist from The Merrymen playing a different style of music (kinda jazzy). Very highly recommend!!!

We walked in here the first night as its 5 mins round the corner from the Hilton . Great ambience , live music playing , plants everywhere .. It's like the Rainforest Cafe decor but real ! Local delicious food , the buffet seems popular but we played safe on our first night and chose some regular al la carte... More

Brown sugar serves nice seafood like flying fish, swordfish, mahi mahi etc and I think the food is excellent. The staff are attentive but mistook our accents and we didn't get exactly what we ordered (twice) but luckily we enjoyed all the food. One problem though was the heat in the restaurant. Even though fans were on it was stifling... More

Staying at The Hilton with our daughter (vv happy with Hilton overall) and driving back after "swimming with turtles" around 1245 today we drove past Brown Sugar - had seen reviews and mentions in the magazines, we thought this was the moment to try the buffet. It was fantastic - parked in the car park which was quite full, a... More

The service was nice. The location and setting was nice. The food was fine. I think it would be a good place for lunch or breakfast.

Not the greatest of ambiance but great food. The best baked potato I've ever had. Recommend the flying fish.

I went to Brown Sugar with my husband during our week long stay in Barbados. We'd read some reviews on here, and they seemed to be pretty mixed, but after reading the menu we thought we'd give it a try anyway. We weren't disappointed. The food was fairly good, and the service was excellent. The waitress went out of her... More

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Brown Sugar Restaurant! The prices are affordable. The meal comes with a free drink per person. The buffet is expansive with a delectable selection of flavour and colours. The desert is AMAZING, especially the bread pudding with rum sauce! I go here whenever by partner wants to celebrate anything because it's cozy and relaxing yet vvery... More

This restaurant is walking distance from the Hilton and a good alternative to the hotel restaurants. It has a fairly extensive menu (available online at http://brownsugarbarbados.com) and the dishes we had (Spiced Fish Filet and Seafood Medley) were very good. Price wise it is a little less expensive than some places.
