We returned from a fortnight in Barbuda last week. We were there exactly the same time last year. This year a local ban on catching, selling or buying lobsters was in place (not a problem for us as all other islands we visit have a closed season and there is plenty of other good food available). This had caused problems... More

Uncle Roddy's is a simple homestyle restaurant on the beach at Spanish Well Point in Barbuda which serves the best lobster we've ever had. It's worth the adventure to get there. If like us you're arriving by boat you pull the dinghy up on the sand at the security gate to the airstrip & Roddy will come and get you... More

A great way to spend a relaxing day in Barbuda, The pink sand beach with Roddy cooking grilled Lobster. The food was fantastic, the beer was cold and the chairs in the surf were totally relaxing. A must to experience !!!!!

First Barbuda is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. And on the unspoiled island sits a little place called Uncle Rodey's. it is located right on a beautiful beach. The food is fabulous! Grilled lobster, grilled BBQ chicken are the main dishes served with rice, salad and grilled bananas. Of course there is a small bar... More

This was our 2nd time visiting Barbuda for the day. After swimming on the gorgeous beach of Princess Diana we decided not to wait for our ride not realizing we were 2 miles away from Uncle Roddys where we knew our lobsters and cold beers were waiting at this quaint little house in the middle of no where. Great food,,... More

We stayed for two weeks in the cottage next door to Uncle Roddy's and ate there seven of the days (and dropped in for a beer or some rum on a few others). By the end of our visit we were really sorry to leave both Roddy and his dog Ritchie behind. Uncle Roddy prepares good, fresh, simple food. Everything... More

Probably the best restaurant on the island, but man, I'm fairly confident this is the place my legs got eaten alive by sand fleas. I did go the the beach, though, so perhaps it's better if you just stay put. Know that you have to call a day in advance for a reservation. Usually it's just "fish or lobster". lol.... More

We had a great lunch at Uncle Roddys. It's a casual restaurant on the beachfront with a friendly atmosphere and superb fresh food. We had delicious lobster and Hog fish, which I must say was great and something that I hadn't tried before. It's a must do on this lovely island.

I am from New England and we are snobs about our lobster, but Uncle Roddy made me the best Caribbean lobster I have ever had. It was moist and so flavorful. Thanks! The following day he cooked me local fish which was just as good.

We visited Barbuda via Antigua about a week ago and Uncle Roddys is a sweet setup. Quaint good food and a great beach across the dirt Road. The Lobster lunch was great and the service made me feel at home. The only bad thing I can say is bring mosquito repellant if its rained in the last few days. But... More
