Description: Henri Charrière, one of the world’s most famous prisoners, would surely have had the time of his life at Papillon Restaurant in The Village, across from the Radisson Resort. Nicknamed Papillon because of the butterfly tattoo on his chest, he was the first convict to escape from Devil’s Island. Charrière’s thrilling, gripping autobiography has been the concept behind Papillon Restaurant.Papillon Restaurant’s menu reflects the Frenchman’s arduous journey to freedom: classic French dishes have been dusted with daring Caribbean flair and are a culinary journey for your taste buds. The spacious outside terrace is perfect for casual fine dining or one may enjoy the air-conditioned inside dining space.

We had stopped by this restaurant earlier in the week and their menu looked really good, so we decided to save it for our last night. We came back for the early special (between 5-7) and there were already some other there when we arrived around 6:15. It turned out that there were really only two options on the early... More

We go here every year and every year we love it! So friendly the staff is and the food is amazing french modern cuisine - nothing too heavy with creams - lots of fresh fish to choose from and steak prepared perfectly. Excellent French wine list and is just a great quite place to have dinner. Highly recommend this place.

Great menu. We did eight nights out in Aruba, at eight different restaurants and this one won out on the food. However, the service was a good as the food. Started off by being served by, the now famous Miriam, but fear not, she's not the only gem waitress in here. The majority of the meal was served by Marrit,... More

We tried to eat here, but as there was no service we paid for our drinks and left. We'd read the reviews, found the place and liked the look of the menu. The woman who greeted us as we entered was lovely, but when we stepped inside it went downhill. We ordered drinks, my Prosecco was flat, I would have... More

Hard to believe it's only a football field or so removed from the 'churn' of J.R. Irausquin Boulevard in Palm Beach. Restorative and almost quiet. You feel welcome and appreciated from the (first) moment you are greeted-why we went here twice. Portions, I thought, were generous. Not ALL Servers on Island created equally. Must ask for Miriam if you attend;... More

We found this restaurant purely by accident. My husband and I were walking around, doing some shopping and stumbled upon it one night. We were not very hungry but still wanted to eat something before calling it a night. We were seated outside and greeted by our very friendly server Miriam who took our order for a glass of Chardonnay... More

We went to Papillon when referred by the concierge at the Marriott Ocean Club. We are certainly glad we took her advice because WOW what a wonderful experience! We were greeted by a big smile and a very cheery bartender who set the mood quite well. At the table we were then happily greeted by Lizzy. Lizzy was energetic, knowledgeable... More

According to its website, Papillion is named after Henri Charrière, a famous prisoner who escaped from Devil's Island. His nickname came from a butterfly that was tattooed on his chest. Henri Charrière apparently had extraordinary tales to tell. From Papillion, we do not. In fact, the lack of story (and indeed major promised plot points and characters) is what lets... More

Enjoy Aruba's trade winds by seating outside at this great restaurant. Food was amazing. I had the lamb and it was perfectly cooked/seasoned. The mushroom risotto was creamy and flavorful. My partner had the grouper special and he raved about the gray flavors and the freshness of seafood. The only downfall was they had run out of Jack Daniels and... More

My husband and I went here on our very last day and I wished I found it sooner. It was located in a great location, if your are looking for lively and touristy type environment. They had an quaint indoor dining area but we opted to sit in their outdoor covered area. It was great people watching, nice atmosphere for... More
