Stunning food in a lovely atmosphere

this hotel has recently re opened with new ownership. My family and I had a meal here last month and it was stunning. My son particularly loved the mussles and the pasta with homemade meatballs were to die for. The staff were attentive and friendly. The decor is gorgeous. All in all one of the best... read more

The Red Lion has just re-opened and we enjoyed a lovely meal there recently. Service is excellent with a varied and extensive menu. The ribs were highly recommended and fish and chips tasty and beautifully cooked. We had a look around the bedrooms which had sumptuous solid wood four poster beds with all mod cons too. We will return! Thank... More

Service is friendly, efficient and quick. The food is innovative and delicious. The only downside is that the portions are humungus and you really need to be VERY hungry to finish them. I did manage because it was so delicious.

Very warm welcome, staff all friendly & helpful. Very impressive room, perfectly clean and a surprisingly comfortable bed (I usually don't sleep well in hotel beds). Room was spacious, put-me-up bed added for our daughter. Only item lacking was a bin in the bathroom. Breakfast a little disappointing as my poached eggs were overcooked. Good coffee, toast & organic yoghurts... More

Me & my family visited on a Saturday night, in which, was extremely busy. Despite the staff being busy and trying to get used to their new work place, they were so friendly & would go out of their way to help you. The new owners which I believe have two other successful restaurants, also seem lovely. They have done... More

The whole experience was amazing and we had such a welcome by all the staff, the ribs are certainly worth a try. The interior was exactly what you expect from the appearance of beautiful sixteenth century building. I will be back.

Was recommended whilst staying in the area. Good service, great staff and food was excellent. Had a makeover in the last couple of years and looks great without spoiling its historic look. Reasonable prices and well worth a visit.

The Red Lion has now reopened under new management. Same managers as The George in Upper Cwmtwrch so an excellent meal is guaranteed. You must visit just to see the medieval theme. Brilliant.

Intended to go here last Sunday, but found it has closed. A blessing in disguise, as we went just up the road to the Goose & Cuckoo. Fantastic!
