We have been here since February 2014 and the place is deserted. Just this past week they are doing some renovations so who knows whether The Aruban Chef will return or it will be another restaurant/business.

We stumbled on this place while looking at houses in the area and went in for lunch. Surprisingly good food and service; a little quiet but it was a quick meal. We were impressed enough to try it for dinner a few days later: the food was still quite good, the ambiance picked up a bit from the lunch experience... More

I was there on a special celebration on last sunday and I am deeply dissapointed at the service there. Even thou I reserved in advance for 7 persons and 3 kids with the pre-ordered meal, it still took them 2 hours to even get our first drinks! It couldn't be because of the amount of people because there were only... More

Away from the resorts. Real local food simply prepared and delicious. The proprietor was engaging. We really enjoyed trying authentic Aruban cuisine. Only about a 10 minute taxi ride from the High Rise Section. Well worth the trip!

Arroz con Pollo, Seafood Paella, and Fish Filet (I think it was grouper) plus 2 juices, 1 soda and 1 beer. Total came to US $42.00. Great lunch spot in between Philip's Animal Garden and the Casibari Rock Formations. It will be on your right side.

Their goat stew was delish! It is still on the bones, so you have to work at at it a little, but it is so flavorful! We got an appetizer that I can't remember the name of, but it tasted like an enchilada. It was yummy too! The ambiance is great and the service is terrific for Aruban standards!

The Aruban Chef is a local establishment off the beaten path and has a nice, family-owned feel. The owner personally greets and chats with each table at the end of the meal. My husband and I both ordered the cabrito stoba, or goat stew. We selected the pan bati as a side, which are cornmeal pancakes. The stew tasted quite... More

Call the atmosphere simple, but the rest is what Aruba is all about! The menu is dedicated to local specialties and they have to be tried. The polenta appetizer is to die for. We liked it so much we ordwred more! The chicken stew was incredible, and I mean incredible. He seafood pasta had more fish in it than pasta-how... More

Want to enjoy some authentic Aruban dishes away from the resort crowds? Then the Aruban Chef is a great choice. We went there at the recommendation of one of the locals and it did not disappoint. Easy to get to and worth the trip. I had the Keshi Yena (shredded chicken topped with gouda cheese and my wife enjoyed the... More
