Description: Aruba is all about the fabulous beaches during the day, and the many great...
Aruba is all about the fabulous beaches during the day, and the many great restaurants at night. It is only logical that these two unique things of Aruba are combined into one! Luc & Gerco found the perfect spot to synergize great food, and a beautiful setting to create an experience almost unique on our island. When listening to the ocean caressing the shore, while wiggling your toes through the pearly white sand, why not let yourself be pampered by a gourmet dinner? Chef Gerco & Maitre d' Luc had a shared dream of opening up a restaurant here, but wanted something in line with what they enjoy on Aruba: the nearly perfect climate, the possibility to always be outside, the tropical feel... When opening their restaurant, they had these ideas in their heads, and it worked like a charm! Tables under a large palapa on a wooden deck with a view of the ocean, or outside under the Aruban nights sky, on the pristine beach... An original menu was created by Gerco and Justin, with some of the old school favorites (sirloin with bearnaise, or tuna steak with teriyaki) as well as some original dishes not found anywhere, with unique combinations (smoked salmon & shrimp, grouper & mango or leg & rack of lamb) and wonderful vegetarian dishes. With the help of the local wine suppliers, Luc made an extensive wine list, with wines from all over the world, and is always ready to pair a wine with your dinner. The experienced service team is friendly yet professional, ready to wow you from the moment you walk in, to make a fabulous evening into a great memory on Aruba!

Make no mistake, you are paying for the experience and the scenery at this place. The food is decent, but not as good as other places on the island. But that sunset... truly remarkable. And the staff was SO nice. I will say though that the key lime pie was probably the best I have ever had. And I love... More

When entering the restaurant from the parking lot the modest exterior belies ther great experience you are about to have. Make reservations to get "on the sand" overlooking a little harbor. The waitstaff were part of a culinary institute program (not sure if this is constant) and were well schooled. The food was excellent including some new dishes we had... More

Came here based on a recommendation and were glad we did. We would have never known this place existed- it is quite hidden from the road and looks a bit dodgy on the outside. The staff is very friendly and the seating is great. We arrived about 20 minutes early for our 6:30 reservation and got a front table by... More

their catch phrase is elegant dining in flip flops. It was truly elegant dining with our toes in the sand. Great concept, great food, truly enjoyed the experience and can't wait to go back.

The location is excellent and the food matches. Our waiter, David, was informative, entertaining and attentive. The food was really great. The fish was all prepared with a Dutch flare and quite different from anything you would get in the U.S. the sunset was gorgeous and sipping some margaritas while the sun went down was just outstanding.

We decided to go to his restaurant because all of the buzz around it. You really can not open a magazine without seeing Barefoot in it. Too bad we took this decision. The view really is amazing, feet in the sand and a very calm sea. All other things are negative; our waitress was rather immature and wasn't really up... More
