We were wandering around on our first full day in Aruba and stumbled upon this place. The grouper special listed on the board outside sounded good and it was! My husband got the Italian baguette, which was also good. The service was relaxed (i.e. a little slow), but friendly. Give it a try and don't miss Aruba's version of lemonade... More

This is a quaint spot in downtown to enjoy breakfast or soup and baguette sandwiches for lunch. They have indoor dining or a nice courtyard in the back for outdoor. Pleasant staff and good food. A nice place for a quiet relaxed meal.

Definitely recommend when visiting Oranjestad. Incredible little building with a very friendly staff. Service is a little slow but true to the way it is done in Europe. Food is great with some authentic Dutch items.

I went to the "De suikertuin" to have breakfast. I was with 2 other persons. We all ordered the "Hollands ontbijt". This included 2 slices of toast a half, small piece of baguette, a croissant, a boiled egg, several sandwidge spreads and a cup of tea, coffee or juice. When i cut up the egg, the yolk had a broad... Very nice, small restaurant. Online menu is confusing, lists a dinner menu, but only open until 4pm? Food and service was very good and in a relaxing atmosphere (old house converted to a restaurant). The Dutch Apple Pie was delicious!

We visited on our honeymoon. After having nothing but seafood for over a week straight I was ready for a change of pace. The baguette sandwiches we had were very good, I recommend the tuna and Dutch cheese baguette. Baguettes were very reasonably priced and so was the wine selection.

Gaston from the Wonders Hotel sent me here for lunch. It was exactly what I was looking for. Great food, cooked fresh in a quiet little place. Would love to go back for dinner.

We loved it here! The environment was calming and the food was delicious. My husband went to school in the Netherlands and is always on the search for traditional Dutch food. We tried a variety of items, a favorites were the filet americano, fresh mint tea, and croquets. This little gem is in the city, we stumbled upon it on... More

We recently dined at De Suikertuin, on our first trip to Aruba. We had a great breakfast, the service was excellent and both the interior (beutifully restored home) and exterior patio, was tastefully decorated and very inviting. Did not feel like we were in Oranjestad. We would certainly go back.
