Best breakfast in Aruba!

Willaka took great care of us. Everything was perfect. The setting was lovely in the tropical garden with dozens of birds feasting on sugar. Strong Dutch coffee and pineapple pancakes. If you're in Oranjestad you must try De Suikertuin.

Lunch for two was 36.00 after the obligatory 15% gratuity. I had grouper and the wife had a sandwich which was supposed to be chicken but turned out to be bacon. Three of those dinky beers, white rice, steamed veggies. Very bland. The waitress is cheerful if if a bit scattered ( got the order wrong). The are many many... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We were tired of the hotel breakfasts and hated paying such high hotel prices! de Suikertuin was very quaint, clean and the staff was friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were large .... ..... and it was half the cost of the... More

Personally I'm not a big fan of this place, but because of its location I go there when I have to do some errands in the main street. I find its menu very basic and expensive. I find the service to be desired over since they tend to forget you are even there. I went there March 28th, for breakfast... More

We decided to try De Suikertuin based on a lot of positive reviews, and went there one morning for breakfast before a big day of shopping. We got lost trying to find this place, but eventually found ourselves here. What a cute little place! It looks like a cavern inside, but is nice and airy, but we decided to sit... More

This restaurant is very fine. It's decored in a rustic and modern mix of styles. We only had coffee and cake here but these place is an excellent place for lunch, both warm and cold (sandwiches). On their menu also some typically Dutch stuff like hotch potch onion-carrot ( hutsput) en red cabbage (rode kool). Nice staff too, really worth... More

My wife and I visited this restaurant for breakfast while staying downtown. The owner(?) greeted us and served us breakfast in the quaint, plant-filled garden at the rear of what appears to be a converted residence about two blocks from the marina. The open-air garden is surrounded by high walls and trees filled with finches (which do not bother the... More

De Suikertuin is located in an older building downtown with thick stone walls and has a nice rustic decor. The restaurant has an extensive menu of sandwiches along with some salads and entrees. They also offer breakfast and poffertjes for dessert. The food is fresh and good. I like to go there with girlfriends.

This restaurant is a little hard to find because it is not on the main street, but it's well worth the short walk. The food was unbelieveably fresh, great tasting and very reasonably priced combined with delightful service. We stopped in Aruba on our recent cruise, and it was a wonderful change from ship food. Also, they have free wi-fi so... More
