Our bus driver recommended the Old Fisherman, tucked behind the bus depot in the least attractive part of a rather old, tired looking Oranjestad. The food was ok, but nothing special - do avoid the fish cakes, listed as a special, they were full of bones, every bite. Maybe I'm too picky, but I take the bones out. There were... More

Locals recommend it but they must get a 50% discount. Cost has went through the roof on average food. $52 for lunch with no drinks when 2 years ago same lunch was $30. Tourist stay away, leave it for the locals, who get the better food with lower prices.

The locals love this restaurant and recommend it to all tourists. Now we know why, the Old Fisherman has two menu's, both have the same numbers, but, locals are in Florens and tourists are in USD. I guess, I would if I was a local, be happy to plug it, since as a local, it is almost half price. Actually,... More

High priced, Frozen vegetables, Zero atmosphere even for a local place, Had better food in a diner in Jersey for half the price.

My husband likes to try local places, fun to try but slightly greasy. Nice service, very local decor which is fine, very nice folks, food ok, like other places better.

My wife and I ate lunch at the Old Fisherman on two occasions during our recent visit to Aruba. It is centrally located in downtown Orangestad. We had seafood soup the first time. It was tasty but in a clear broth not all that appetizing looking. Our second time we had fish soup and fish cakes, both of which were... More

I have been coming to Aruba for more than twenty five years. Many things have changed, but I never felt I was cheated before today. Four of us had lunch here and the food was at best fair. What surprised me was that there were quite few locals eating here. I thought the prices were high but they were what... More

no cruise ships in so we got in easily for lunch. Fish specials every day, cooked or grilled. Nice change of pace. Must scout out parking if you're driving!

We really looked forward to this dining experience based on the high rating received from Tripadvisor, but we were very disappointed in the meal. The service was excellent; however all the seafood dishes were overcooked and dry. if you are driving there ( instead of walking from a cruise line dock) parking was non existent. The price for the meal... More
