A little Gem downtown

Sounds crazy, but I go here once a year for breakfast. It's the only place I know of where I can get fried fresh fish eggs (grouper) for breakfast. Haven't eaten dinner there in a couple of years, but was really tasty. About as close to 'local cuisine' as you get in a tourist-oriented... read more

I visited the Old Fisherman today with my family. We ordered and Aside from the order taking forever to make the quality was horrible. My husband had the special which was the red snapper. It came on a plate with two fish. The taste was as if it was rotten. My son had the fish soup which I couldn't even... More

After tasting poor food at my all inclusive resort I decided to venture off to this local spot a friendly bus driver dropped me off at. Got the deep fried red snapper. It was incredible but the service is very slow, which for a new yorker can be a bit of a shocker, but I figured I'm on vacation what's... More

Best fish in Aruba ! Really great local place. We asked our cab driver for local and we got it ! We had a great meal and can't believe just how good the food is ! Best place to eat in Aruba !!! Walking distance from the cruise port. Still wishing I had some Creole sauce here in NY !

As some said, service ain't the best but hey you're in Aruba. What's your hurry. I was kept well stocked with Balashi so it's all good. The platter was dease. Big yummy shrimp, grilled chicken in cubes, fries kind of lame, fish cake was good/different. I'd go back in a pinch but nothing to write home about.

This restaurant is superb! Very nice ambience and music. The quality of the food was amazing. Then the amazing, mouth-watering red snapper. It was devoured completely. The saloon is not that big, but the service is almost perfect and the price is excellent. Great job. A must-see when going to Aruba.

We had Shrimp Cocktail...Ceviche...Fish Cakes...and their homemade Flan. Everything was excellent. However the entire visit was ruined by terrible service. It appears the place is frequented by locals and they prefer to keep it that way. We were never asked to be seated when we walked in....we ordered appetizers first and when we decided to order more...we had to wave... More

We inquired of several locals and were told that the Old Fisherman was one of the best seafood restaurants in Oranjestad, Aruba. We were disappointed for lunch. Arriving about 1:30 PM for a late lunch, at the small store front restaurant, we found the wait staff to be self absorbed at the bar, talking with each other. When were were... More

Like when we had have our early dinner at the Peanuts restaurant in Oranjestad, this time we walked in to the Old Fisherman restaurant just about 16.00 hrs because we were so hungry. I have ordered a glass of pinacolada as my apetizer and continue with deep frying sniper fish as my main course. My husband has file mahi mahi... More
