This place has a great reputation! That said, the power went out right after we placed our order. The power outage didn't really phase us, or any of out fellow diners! the power was restored 15-20 minutes after it went out. we waited a good 10-15 min. before we mentioned that we had not received our salads (I was afraid... I don't uderstand all of the positive reviews. This place is dark and dank and the service was terrible as well as the food. We came based on all of the positives and were disappointed when we were seated. We were met by a waiter that just wanted to rush our order and seemed annoyed that we didn't order drinks.... More

Went here on a recommendation, totally blown away with not only the food, but the service. Group of 12, in and out in 1 1/2 hours. Most of Aruba is on island time with their service, not Driftwood. They were on their game. Order from the "special menu" a lot of food and you won't be disappointed.

This downtown restaurant is owned by a family that run fishing charters, so often they have caught the fish earlier the same day. The atmosphere is nice but casual. We were happy with our meal. The food was very good.

They have been there for so long that what they do comes to them almost effortlessly. Large enough to accommodate you without reservations but not overwhelmingly so. Fish chowder is excellent as was the grouper (but that goes without saying on Aruba); wahoo was tasty even if a bit on a dry side. Overall excellent experience and value!

We were recommended to try this restaurant (by a local) and we were not disappointed as the 'catch of day' (Mahi Mahi) was absolutely DELICIOUS and 'great' value for money. Whilst this place is a little difficult to find - in the backstreets of Oranjestad (behind the church), it's worth seeking out. The 'Shack' style of Driftwood is 'interesting' -... More

Old "shack" style décor is very interesting. Was there with a large group and food and service was very good. They are known for their Wahoo and they know how to cook it!
