We were looking for a restaurant serving grilled meat and decided to try El Gaucho, expecting to find an average to good quality meal and service as one should expect from an Argentinian restaurants. Big mistake! The establishment has nothing to do with Argentina or good argentine beef. The service is mediocre at best. The food is served in old... more

I had the "El Gaucho" steak and it had no taste what so ever. Completely overcooked. My wife also stated her steak tasted like nothing. She had the soup and it was too salty. Portions are not generous. Service was non-existent. Waiter never returned to ask we we needed anything or wanted another drink. In fact, once a bigger party... more

We've eaten here twice. Once while we were staying in Aruba and once while we were on a cruise docked in Aruba. Both times we had delicious food and wonderful service. This is a must visit restaurant when visiting Aruba. more

Overall I felt that the steaks were pretty good, no where near the best I've had but overall good, had a very different taste that is very tough to explain. Service was the worst we had on the island, very slow and the waiter almost seemed to be inconvenienced to have to help us. I know that this is a... more

This is our fourth trip to Aruba and this year we had to see what what all the hype was about "El Gaucho". Unfortunately my $40.00 "Cowboy Steak" was 35% fat. My wife had the beef short ribs and they were tuff. The sides were small and not very special. All of the people who work there were very pleasant,... more

This was our second time eating at El Gaucho. The first time was about 4-5 years ago. The food is still fantastic and we remember it just like the first time. The empanadas were good and both my husband and I had steak dishes. The waiter actually recommended my husband to order the T-bone (22oz steak) which my husband really... more

On our penultimate night in Aruba, my wife and I finally made it over to Oranjestad so that we could indulge in the oft-recommended dining experience at El Gaucho... we were not disappointed. We shared an appetizer of empanadas (minced meat, chopped olives and chopped eggs), homemade bread and marinated onions. The empanadas were very tasty... the bread was warm... more

The food here was good. The servers do not seem enthusiastic at all to take care of you. They are quite polite although it seems they did not want to be there working. The restaurant itself was kind of neat as it felt like we were in an old carriage house. I enjoyed my steak but it was pricey for... more
