This is a must go place. The sunsets are spectacular. The new owners, Darren and Alicia are wonderful. They kept the tapas menu, made some changes to the building and it is great. It has a warm atmosphere. The bartender is super friendly. We can't wait to go back.

We had dinner there the first night we arrived on the island. The sunset was nice and the other guests in the restaurant enjoyed their meals as much as we did (based on their conversation). It is a tapas menu, which I liked...the flavors were marvelous. The roasted veggies were out of this world good!!

Even taking into account that island speed is slow, we had to ask for the bill, drinks, etc. more than once. The service staff is disorganized. Drinks were great, and the food was delicious but overpriced. The restaurant down the beach was packed, and we couldn't get a table. The Sandbar was practically empty, and yet it took forever to... Everything at Sandbar is made to make you fall under its charm: the view at sunset, the setting, the caring service (adorable waitresses and attentive owner) , and of course the food. Try those tapas : steak, mahi, fish bites, fries, chocolate cakes.

Seriously, we could not find one thing remotely wrong with SandBar. The staff is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, unimposing etc. The food is in a word, spectacular! OMG we simply did not want the tapas to stop coming. Each dish was better than the last. WOW WOW WOW is all we kept saying. While we had some incredible meals... More

If you'd like excellent food, a chance to try a lot of different things, great location overlooking the beach, and friendly service, enjoy a wonderful dinner here. I'd recommend a reservation.

My husband and I love the idea of tapas so we really wanted to try Sandbar. It is right on the beach at Sandy Ground. It is a casual place, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Tapas and dessert, our kind of place. We met Alicia, the new owner, when she stopped by our table to chat. She has... More

Sandbar is a great place. The food was good and this was the only sit-down place on the island with staff that didn't seem to think it was odd that I was dining alone. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the menu doesn't make it clear that the dishes are tapas/small bites.

I have been traveling to Anguilla for over 6 years now and have literally eaten at every restaurant on the island. I have to say that the food, service, and location of the Sandbar make it a must for anyone looking for a unique dining experience. The tapas menu is perfectly executed and delicious. In addition, the new outdoor deck... More

Alicia and Darren have done a beyond fantastic job taking over sand bar in sandy ground. the prices are a tinge higher, but you get what you pay for in this situation. They have turned it around to an even more beautiful setting and the food is better, so it's a win for everyone. They feature a special nightly to... More
