Friendly welcome and interesting menu

We visited this pub as it was well rated by the owners of the accommodation we stayed at in Somerset. The owners were very friendly (couldn't drag my husband away), and the food very good. If we are out for dinner, and are looking for the best pub food in the area, this is the place we go to. Average price for a two course meal with drinks is about £20 - £30 per head depending on your choices. There is a simple menu board of innovative and tasty stuff. Friends who come to visit... More

I visited this pub today with two elderly relatives. It is obviously a popular place, but despite being full of people, we received excellent service...friendly and efficient waitresses looked after us and not too long a wait for our meal. We all chose the roast beef which was tasty, tender and perfectly cooked - which we have found is often... More

We were staying at a local Airbnb property nearby and the The Bull Inn was recommended by our host. It did not disappoint. We received a warm welcome, with friendly and efficient service. Our meal was delicious, really good value. Well worth a visit, though you may need to book as it is clearly very popular with good reason.k

What a lovely setting down a quiet lane in the beautiful Somerset countryside. The landlord was very welcoming to Us and our dog. The beer was good and the food excellent with a great choice from pub grub to fine dining.

I have sometimes come along with our good friends for a Sunday Lunch. We are veggies (our friends are not) and whilst the veggie options are always lovely, it would be so nice to have a roast too but with a nut roast or similar. I love veggie roast dinners and they are so rarely found in pubs. Anyway, that... More

We've been several time and it doesn't disappoint. Food was excellent not from a packet or from the freezer. All was very well cooked and served. Plates were hot and plenty on them as well. The choice on the wall for a country pub is extensive and will please all from meat eaters to veggies. The choice of beer, cider, wines etc.... More

We found this pub on Trip Advisor as a place for lunch before visiting the Godminster cheese outlet in Bruton. It is a lovely pub with a great atmosphere. We both had peasant, which was from the local shoot. It was beautifully cooked in a lovely red wine and red cabbage sauce - one of the best peasant dishes I... More

Another Sunday lunch with my elderly mother bought us to this marvellous watering hole. I last lunched here in 1988. Being a Sunday, I booked a table in advance on seeing the full car park,I was pleased I had done so. The landlord welcomed us at the bar and soon had a drink in our hands. I chose the sea... More
