Proper pub with great food

My wife and myself saw the brown sign directing us to the Green Dragon on our way back from Dartmouth to Kingsbridge and thought we would investigate. From the outside it looks quite plain and ordinary but we thought we would risk it for a biscuit! Inside is just as I remember pubs being 30+ years... read more

Stopped at the Green dragon on the way home from walking the dogs . Looked very ordinary from the outside but we needed a drink and food. Inside was like a typical old Devon drinking pub, full of character and interesting things, pleasant atmosphere . Ordered a real ale and food which I have to say was really very good.... More

Good pub very close to campsite. Had two lovely evenings with a couple of good real ales. The lamb rogan josh was superb. Will definitely visit again. Child friendly.

This is a really nice pub - lots of locals use it which is a good sign. Beer is good and the food is excellent; good variety and good value. There are lots of nooks and crannies; dogs are welcomed and there is a restaurant area too.

I love this place. Peter and Alix are great hosts and the food is top notch (I had the fish stew and fish pie, both of which were delicious). The pub is wonderfully quirky and reflects the owners' personalities. Real fire, real ale and a real pub. 10/10

Best Pub i have ever visited for the last time. The food reflected the ceiling, and the name matches the personality of the hideously friendly locals dogs. The service that we DIDN'T RECEIVE was excellent, and the smile on the old dragons face gleaming with none existence. I wouldn't recommend this to a watermelon, it would be too juicy for... More

An old fashioned pub in a quiet location. We were made to feel welcome, and the menu choices were varied and food delicious! Recommend after a long walk as the portions are great!

We were hesitant at first to visit this pub as we had been warned by several people about the rudeness of the staff. When we arrived it was very busy but had a buzzing atmosphere. It was mainly younger members of staff working on the bar who were very friendly and accommodating. We did wait a long time for a... More

We walked the South West Coastal path, dropped into the church at Stoke Fleming and outside its gates found The Green Dragon. We felt welcomed in with our dog, relaxed with pints of local cloudy cider, and enjoyed an excellent meal. The crab sandwiches got top marks, as did the three cheese plough mans. We shared a good sticky toffee... More
